NASC 2018

The student team of the Accounting Department, Faculty of Economics and Business UGM achieved the 1st Winner Best Team and Best Category in the National Accounting Student Conference at Universitas Sanata Dharma Yogyakarta held on October 26-27, 2018. The student team consist of Eka Ratna Nugraha (Accounting 2015), Anggit Budi Pawestri (Accounting 2015), and Santini Dewi Putri (Accounting 2015).

National Accounting Student Conference (NASC) is an annual student paper competition and conference organized by the Accounting Student Association (HIMAKS) of Universitas Sanata Dharma. This year, the third NASC carried the theme "The Role of Accountant in Environmental Sustainability". The competition covers the national territory of Indonesia.

NASC consisted of two stages, the presentation stages of student papers and conferences. Each team submitted written papers in accordance with the chosen themes and subcategories, technology or public sector, then it would be selected to the presentation round. The UGM team chose the Technology subcategory. There were twelve teams that qualified for the presentation stage, two teams of Universitas Islam Bandung, UIN Alauddin Makassar, Universitas Sanata Dharma, Universitas Katolik Soegijapranata, Universitas Muslim Indonesia, Universitas Pembangunan Nasional Veteran Yogyakarta, Universitas Negeri Semarang, Universitas Kristen Petra, Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, Universitas Atma Jaya Yogyakarta, and Universitas Gadjah Mada. After presenting the papers on the first day, the twelve teams held a conference in the form of group discussions on the second day.

On this occasion, the team presented a paper entitled "I-VETS: Indonesia Voluntary Emission Trading System (The Design of Carbon Market in Indonesia Based on a Voluntary Emission Trading System as an Implementation of Peraturan Pemerintah Nomor 46 Tahun 2017 Tentang Instrumen Ekonomi Lingkungan Hidup)".
