The UGM’s Mino team has earned another international achievement by winning a world competition titled Ideas for Action 2018. Previously, the team also won a world championship in a food security innovation competition, Young Southeast Asian Leaders Initiative (YSEALI) 2018, in Cambodia.

A team of UGM students has successfully invented a long-lasting perfume without repeated sprays on the body.
The innovation is called BroFume, a body fragrance product in the form of solid perfume gel created as an accessory, such as brooches. The product was invented by students from Faculty of Pharmacy, namely Anisah Nur Masyitoh, Fikhi Aprilia Sepondra, Kania Dwi Fatimah, and Silvia Yudha Prastika, as well as Khusna Fatmawati from Faculty of Economics and Business.

NEDC 2018 (National Economic Debate Competition) is one of the debate competitions held by Student Executive Board of Faculty of Economic, Universitas Negeri Malang (BEM FE UNM) with the debaters came from various leading universities in Indonesia. The debate aims to foster a critical, innovative, and creative soul. In addition as a container channeling the aspirations of students in criticizing issues in accordance with the theme. BEM FE UNM has the theme "Actualization of government policy for the stability of the national economy". The event was held on 12-13 May 2018, with a total prize of Rp 7,500,000. NEDC 2018 had three stages of preliminary round, semifinals (18 teams), and final round (4 teams)

The student team of Accounting Department of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM won second place in Call for Papers 2018 at STIE YKPN Yogyakarta, held on 12-13 May 2018. The team consists of Eka Ratna Nugraha (Accounting 2015), Anggit Budi Pawestri (Accounting 2015), and Santini Dewi Putri (Accounting 2015).

Voice in Breakthrough Education (VIBE 2018) is a national-scale marketing-economics debate organized by the Marketing Student Association at Universitas Kristen Petra Surabaya, which held on 2-5 May 2018. The theme raised in VIBE 2018 is "Digital Marketing for Startup Business". The first stage of this round was paper selection. Participants were required to write a paper with the theme of digital marketing to qualify for the next stage. Universitas Gadjah Mada’s Team "Newbee team" made it into the top 16 and went to compete in Surabaya on 2-5 May 2018.
