SMU Ph.D Program

On Wednesday, 10 October 2018, an info session was held by Singapore Management University (SMU), a partner university of Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM). This event contained information about the scholarship for Ph.D. Program held by SMU. The info session began at 10:00, in Kertanegara room, 2nd floor East Wings FEB UGM’s building, which was attended by lecturers and bachelor students of FEB UGM and several master students.

The event was opened by a brief speech from the Vice Dean of Finance, Assets, and Human Resources of FEB UGM, Kusdhianto Setiawan, Ph.D., and followed by handover of souvenir from FEB UGM to SMU. Then, it was continued with a speech and presentation about the SMU Research Overview by represented by the Dean of the Postgraduate Research Programs of SMU, Assoc. Prof. Wan Wai Yee.

The first presentation of the info session was about how to adress societal challenges through SMU Research. After that, it was continued with a presentation about Academic Research Ph.D. Programs in SMU by lecturers from the Postgraduate Research Programs of SMU, Asha Choolani (Senior Manager Postgraduate Research Programs), Dr. Shelly Li (Head of Faculty & Research, Lee Kiong Chian School of Business), Dr. Bao Tan Huynh (Senior Lecturer of Economics, School of Economics), Assoc. Prof. Zheng Baihua (Associate Dean, School of Information Systems Postgraduate Research Programs), and Assoc. Prof. Hady Lauw (School of Information Systems).

In addition, SMU also informed about scholarships that could be obtained by students who intend to join SMU as students of the Ph.D. Program. In the question and answer session, several students and lecturers from FEB UGM enthusiastically conveyed their questions to SMU’s deans and lecturers. The session was closed with handover of souvenir from SMU to the FEB UGM, represented by represented by the Dean of the Postgraduate Research Programs of SMU, Assoc. Prof.. Wan Wai Yee.
