Philosophy understanding in the research approach is very important for researchers in conducting accounting and business research. On Friday (23/4), the Master of Science and Doctoral Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) in collaboration with the Laboratory of the Department of Accounting, FEB UGM held the third webinar in the seventh series of webinars with the theme "Philosophy and Approaches to Accounting and Business Research" which discusses various different paradigms in each session. The 3rd series of this webinar brings up the topic of "Interpretivisma Paradigm" in Accounting and Business Research. This webinar is held online through the Zoom Meetings platform and can also be watched on the Youtube Channel of the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM. The moderator who sparked the discussion at this webinar was Achmad Faizal Azmi S.E., B.Sc., M.Sc, Lecturer at FEB UGM. The resource person who will discuss the topic of Interpretivisma Paradigm is Dian Kartika Rahajeng, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D, a lecturer at FEB UGM as well as the Head of the University of Gadjah Mada’s Accounting Department Laboratory.

Philosophy is the basis for the development of accounting and business research as an effort to understand reality through systematic, critical and radical thinking. Philosophy helps develop research and produce novelty as well as breakthrough by utilizing paradigms to be able to provide the best answers in practice. This was expressed by Heyvon Herdhayinta, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. as the speaker in the second series of webinars with the theme “Philosophy and Approaches to Accounting and Business Research” on Friday (16/04). This webinar series was organized by the Accounting Laboratory, Department of Accounting, FEB UGM together with the Master of Science and Doctoral Study Program (MD) FEB UGM and in this second series focused on further examining the paradigm of positivism and neo-positivism.

A year from the pandemic, the 20th AUN-BE Annual General Meeting was held on 15 April 2021 to share the survival models on this new normal. Due to the risk of the spread of COVID-19, the 20th AUN-BE Annual General Meeting (AGM) was held out entirely online hosted by De La Salle University, Philippines. The Meeting was attended by 49 delegates from 7 ASEAN countries.

The Accounting Laboratory, Department of Accounting, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM together with the Master of Science and Doctoral Study Program (MD) FEB UGM held a Webinar Series with the theme "Philosophy and Approaches to Accounting and Business Research". The introduction and understanding of philosophy and research approaches that are important for researchers as well as students in conducting research is the essence of the series. The Webinar Series consists of 7 series of discussion sessions with 7 different topics in each session which will be held from 9 April - 4 June 2021. On Friday (9/04) the first webinar of the series was successfully carried out with the topic "Introduction to the Philosophy of Accounting Research. and Business ”.

The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM together with PP KAFEGAMA, KAFEGAMA DIY, ISEI Yogyakarta, Bank of Indonesia, the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia, the Directorate General of Taxes of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance, and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) held a seminar with the topic "Indonesian Acceleration Progress through Investment and Fiscal Incentives (Perpres 10/2021 and PMK 18/2021)" on Thursday (01/04). This seminar was held online through the Zoom Webinar application and broadcasted live on the Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis UGM Youtube channel and was witnessed by thousands of viewers.

Faculty of Economics and Business UGM together with the Center Manager of the Alumni Family of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (PP KAFEGAMA), KAFEGAMA DIY, Association of Indonesian Economics Scholars (ISEI), held a National Seminar with the topic: Acceleration of Advanced Indonesia through Investment and Fiscal Incentives (Perpres 10/2021 and PMK 18/2021). This National Seminar was supported by Bank Indonesia (BI), the Ministry of Finance of the Republic of Indonesia (Kemenkeu RI), the Directorate General of Taxes of the Indonesian Ministry of Finance (DJPK RI), and the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KADIN) was held through the Zoom Webinar and Youtube channel of Fakultas Ekonomika dan Bisnis UGM and was attended by 1345 participants.
