AUN-BE Delegates Learn Indonesia’s Unemployment Reduction Strategy by Visiting the Pre-Employment Card Office

The ASEAN University Network on Business and Economics (AUN-BE) delegation visited the Pre-Employment Card Implementation Management Office at the Capital Post Building in Jakarta on Friday, January 17, 2025. This visit was part of a series of AUN-BE Annual General Meeting activities held at the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM Jakarta campus on January 16-17, 2025. This time, FEB UGM had the opportunity to host the Annual General Meeting of AUN-BE 2025.

FEB UGM Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation and Alumni, Dr. Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, said that FEB UGM, together with the AUN-BE delegation, conducted an institutional visit and learning to learn about the complexity of implementing a national scale strategic program and the impact of the program. The visit inspired innovation in strategic program management, such as using digital technology and resource efficiency.

“We appreciate the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs and the PMO of the Pre-Employment Card for receiving FEB UGM and the AUN-BE delegation and providing inspiration for organizational and program management,” he said Friday (17/1/2025).

Dr. Arizona Mustikarini, the Head of the Global Relations and Mobility Unit (GREAT), added that the visit to the Pre-Employment Card Program Implementation Management Office is expected to offer ASEAN delegates an overview of the Indonesian government’s efforts to address unemployment.

Cahyo Pribadi, the Director of Monitoring and Evaluation of the Pre-Employment Card Program, welcomed the AUN-BE delegation. In his speech, Cahyo explained the background of the Pre-Employment Card Program’s formation and the complexities of the Pre-Employment Site Developer.

Cahyo also revealed that the government also launched the Pre-Employment Card website to facilitate access for people who will participate in training. The dissemination of information through the digital platform is considered more effective in reaching the broader community than smartphone applications, which are inaccessible in some parts of Indonesia.

As you know, the Pre-Employment Card program is one of the government’s flagship programs. The Pre-Employment Card Program was launched in March 2020, and the first registration phase began in April 2020. The program aims to increase workforce competence through hard skills, soft skills, and entrepreneurship training. Improving workforce competencies is done through online and offline training methods to develop the skills of the community, especially job seekers, according to the needs of the labor market. The Pre-Employment Card program connects job seekers with job portals and training institutions to reduce the skills gap in the labor market.
