The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), conducted a legal drafting training for professional staff on Friday, January 31, 2025, on the 5th floor of Pertamina Tower. This training aimed to enhance the staff’s skills in drafting and designing legal documents effectively to anticipate potential legal issues in the workplace.
FEB UGM Administrative Office Head Nur Bakti Susilo, S.E., Ak., CA., ASEAN CPA., emphasized the importance of understanding legal drafting for employees. He expects this knowledge to equip professional staff with the ability to navigate potential legal and administrative challenges.
“Legal drafting is essential to ensure that rights and obligations are clearly defined and aligned with UGM policies. We need to understand how to draft proper legal documents to avoid potential legal claims that could cause complications,” he said on Friday (31/01/2025).
Through this training, Nur Bakti hopes that FEB UGM’s professional staff will be better prepared to handle administrative and legal challenges in the workplace. In addition, he expects them to be able to draft legal documents according to UGM regulations.
“By participating in this training at FEB UGM, we hope it will be beneficial in strengthening hard skills,” he added.
The training featured a speaker from the Innovation Project Management (IPM) UGM, Fitria Yuniarti, S.H., M.Kn. She gave a presentation on different types of legal documents, their applications in the workplace, and case studies from units within FEB UGM.
Fitria explained the importance of legal documents as valid evidence and official records, whether in printed or electronic form.
“All written, printed, or electronic documents can be considered legal and used as evidence in a case. Therefore, we must understand how to draft them correctly,” Fitria explained during the training.
She also emphasized that any document produced must have a strong legal basis to be recognized as legitimate and to prevent potential litigation.
This training is in line with FEB UGM’s efforts to improve the competence of its human resources. In addition to improving technical skills, the program also provides new insights that support the effectiveness of professional staff in their work.
