FEB Students Won 2nd and 3rd Place in The 2018 National Writing Essay Competition at Universitas Katolik Parahyangan

Two student teams from Undergraduate Program of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB UGM) won the second and third place in the 2018 National Writing Essay Competition held by Himpunan Mahasiswa Program Studi Ekonomi Pembangunan Universitas Katolik Parahyangan in the Development Economics Event. This event was held on Friday, 27th April 2018 in Bank Indonesia West Java, Bandung. The first team consists of Satrio Adi Wibowo (Economics 2015), Phelia Myrna (Economics 2016), and Sisilia Juliana Hanamaria (Economics 2016). The second team consists of Gabriel P. (Economics 2015), Lutfiyah Sungkar (Economics 2015), and Laurencius (Economics 2015).
This national writing essay competition was a part of the series of the Development Economics Event that consist of Seminar, Raceconomics, and essay competition. This year, the main theme was "Exploring Maritime Economic Opportunities to Archive Sustainable Development Goals". In this competition, there were two stages of competition.
This competition was conducted in two stages. First, the participants should send an essay based on one of the three subthemes. After the selection process, 5 teams with the best essay should make a poster based on the essay they made. The finalists were then invited to Bank Indonesia, Bandung, to attend the national seminar and for the winner announcement. The first place has won by Universitas Indonesia. The essay with the title "Aquatrip: Memaksimalkan Potensi Laut Indonesia dengan Konsep Ecotourism dan Pembangunan Akuakultur" by Satrio’s team won the second place. On the other hand, the essay with the title "Kaildanjala.com: Meningkatkan Kesejahteraan Nelayan melalui Teknologi Crowdfunding" by Lutfiyah’s team won the third place.
