A team of UGM students has successfully invented a long-lasting perfume without repeated sprays on the body.
The innovation is called BroFume, a body fragrance product in the form of solid perfume gel created as an accessory, such as brooches. The product was invented by students from Faculty of Pharmacy, namely Anisah Nur Masyitoh, Fikhi Aprilia Sepondra, Kania Dwi Fatimah, and Silvia Yudha Prastika, as well as Khusna Fatmawati from Faculty of Economics and Business.
“BroFume is an innovation of solid perfume gel packed as an accessory to make the scent last longer without repeated use,” said leader of BroFume’s development team, Anisah, when contacted on Thursday (6/21).
Anisah mentioned that using perfume has become the lifestyle of the current modern society, both women and men. In fact, there are many people who always bring perfumes during their activity so they can reapply it when the scent begins to disappear. However, bringing perfumes in glass or plastic bottles is impractical and people think twice to do it.
“Looking at the problem and the entrepreneurial opportunity, we are offering a solution, that is BroFume (Brooch Perfume),” she said.
The solid perfume gel is made from materials that are safe for the body. Its fragrance longevity can last up to 2 weeks without reapplication.
“Currently, we have only invented one scent, which is cherry blossoms and it is available in the form of brooches.”
People can buy one brooch of BroFume for Rp4,000. Meanwhile, a box of 3 brooches is available for Rp10,000.
“Anyone who is interested in buying can get the product through the Instagram account: brofume_ or Line us at @lzd035k.”
BroFume was created from the Student Creativity Program of Entrepreneurship and awarded with grants from DIKTI. In fact, not only this body fragrance innovation is a practical, stylish and functional, but it also opens new business opportunities in the community.
