Two teams from FEB UGM had successfully brought two trophies from National Essay Competition Development Economics Event which was held at Representative Office of Bank Indonesia West Java Province, April 7th, 2017. The first team consisting of Ulayya Gempur Tirani (Accounting 2014), Alexander Michael (Economics 2014), dan Putu Arya Wigita (Economics 2014) had successfully won the 2nd Place. Other than that, the second team consisting of Ega Kurnia Yazid (Economics 2015), Ahmad Zufar Robbani (Economics 2015), dan Handoko (Economics 2015) won the 3rd place in this competition.
Development Economics Event (DEE) is the annual event held by Universitas Katolik Parahyangan, and one of the event is National Essay Competition. This year, DEE in collaboration with Bank Indonesia Fintech Office held the essay competition with the main theme of “Financial Technology” and many interesting subthemes.
To join this competition, each team should wrote an essay which related to Financial Technology. After that, the judges selected the top 5 teams and invited them to present their essay in front of the judge from Bank Indonesia. Based on the presentation result, the first team from FEB UGM with the essay title “Antara Platform Peer-to-Peer Lending dan Kredit Perbankan Konvensional: Lawan atau Kawan?” won the 2nd Place, and the second team from FEB UGM with the essay title “Playing and Investing? Studi Kasus Permainan Berbasis Financial Technology” won the 3rd Place.
