The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), remains committed to fostering the growth of young entrepreneurs among its students. As a concrete effort to realize this commitment, FEB UGM, through the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU), organized a live pitching event for the Pre-Business Incubation Program, which connects students’ business ideas with a panel of judges and opens up opportunities to receive business development grants.
The event, held at FEB UGM on Friday, October 31, 2025, featured nine teams from the Entrepreneurship class taught by Rico Saktiawan Jang Jaya, S.E., MBA, Ph.D. Each team had the opportunity to present their business ideas directly before the panel of judges, consisting of Naya Hapsari, S.E., M.Sc., Denny Wijayanto, and Akmal Luthfiansyah.
Each team received five minutes to deliver their presentation, followed by a ten-minute Q&A session. After the pitching sessions, the event continued with an expo until 2:00 PM, allowing visitors to explore and learn more about the innovative business ideas developed by the students.
In his remarks, Rico encouraged students to make the most of this opportunity to sharpen their communication and strategic thinking skills in the business world. He also hoped the event would help students promote their innovative business concepts.
Through this pre-incubation program, FEB UGM aims to encourage students to develop sustainable business models that can function in the real world, rather than merely stopping at the idea stage. FEB UGM also provides mentoring support and a total grant of IDR 10 million to be awarded to the three best teams, helping them further develop their business ideas.
