The Financial Services Authority (OJK), together with the Association of Indonesian Islamic Economists (IAEI) and Sharia Financial Services Institutions (LJK), hold a competition in Indonesia Sharia Financial Olympiad (ISFO) 2023 which aims to increase public financial literacy and inclusion, especially students and students. In this competition, the Pertow Team of Johar Ma'mun (Accounting 2020) and Sitti Nur Holisah (Accounting 2020) became representatives from the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM.
ISFO 2023 has a competition mechanism consisting of four stages: preliminary, preliminary 1, elimination 2, and final. In the preliminary round, each team must complete challenges provided through the OJK Learning Management System (LMS) platform. In this round, OJK succeeded in gathering 103 participating teams. Seventy-five best teams were then selected to proceed to preliminary round 1. In preliminary round 1, each team faced 15 multiple-choice questions that had to be answered via Kahoot. The 15 best teams were selected from here to advance to the preliminary round 2. In the preliminary round 2, the participating teams were tested with 23 true or false questions that had to be answered via Kahoot and five scramble questions. Finally, the three best teams were selected to compete in the final round. The final round was held offline in Jakarta, where each team had to answer 30 contested questions consisting of 13 multiple-choice questions, 12 true or false questions, and five open questions.
Sitti as a participant, felt very happy to participate in this competition because the system was gradual, so she could learn a lot about Islamic finance. Even so, Sitti finds it challenging to manage her time correctly because of her many responsibilities. Nonetheless, Sitti and the team managed to overcome these challenges. The Pertow Team reached the final round on 23 May 2023 and finally won the 2nd place title. Congratulations to the Pertow Team for a proud achievement!
