KBMK Champion, Artemis Team Honored with UGM Outstanding Achiever Award 2024

The Artemis team from the Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) has won a gold medal in the 2024 National Student Competition in Business, Management, and Finance (KBMK) in the Investment Research category. This remarkable achievement earned them the Anugerah Insan UGM Berprestasi 2024 Award.

Led by Hafidh Firdaus Muzakki (Accounting 2021), with team members Muhammad Rizqy Al Farisi (Accounting 2021) and Haniyah Nur Hasanah (Economics 2021), Artemis impressed the KBMK jury with their research entitled “SIDO: Consistency Business with Quality”. Guided by Prof. Dr. Mamduh M. Hanafi, M.B.A., Amanda Wijayanti, S.E., M.S., and Nofie Iman Vidya Kemal, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., the team stood out from the competition.

During the KBMK 2024 event, which took place from 24 to 26 June 2024, Artemis faced the challenge of analyzing the stock viability of public companies. They were asked to assess whether certain stocks were worth buying, selling, or holding. This analysis involved considering various factors such as macroeconomic conditions, the impact of interest rates on inflation, economic growth based on GDP and population data, and industry prospects over the next 5-10 years. Their in-depth analysis demonstrated a strong understanding of equity research and provided a solid foundation for the valuation of public companies.

The FEB UGM’s unwavering support bolstered the Artemis team’s success. The faculty provided various resources, including public speaking training through the CSDU unit, and rescheduled exams to allow participants to focus on the competition. This comprehensive, multi-faceted preparation was instrumental in achieving maximum results.

KBMK 2024 is one of the most prestigious national competitions. FEB UGM sent three delegate teams to compete in three categories: Investment Research, Investigative Audit, and Scientific Writing.

This achievement brings pride to UGM and demonstrates the excellence of FEB UGM students in business and finance. Team leader Hafidh Firdaus Muzakki expressed his gratitude for the achievement. “This success results from the team’s hard work, our lecturers’ guidance, and the faculty’s full support. We hope that our research can make a tangible contribution to the field of investment.

With this achievement, FEB UGM reaffirms its reputation as one of Indonesia’s leading business education institutions, producing highly competent and globally competitive graduates.
