Shawwalan 1443 H

On Friday (13/05), the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM held a shawwalan in the context of Eid al-Fitr 1443 H. This event was attended by the FEB UGM community, representatives of Dharma Wanita FEB UGM, and guests from Bank Mandiri Fisipol UGM, BRI Danareksa Joglo Semar, OJK, Yogyakarta Central KAFEGAMA, FEB UGM students, and many more. The Shawwalan was held in an open place to comply with health protocols, namely the FEB UGM corridor, and was also held online through zoom meetings.

The event was commenced with the reading of a holy verse from the Koran by Riana Wijayanti, followed by a speech given by Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., CA., as the Dean of FEB UGM, to allow students to let go of their longing for colleagues. Meanwhile, Dr. Perry Warjiyo, Governor of Bank Indonesia and General Chairperson of PP KAFEGAMA, thanked the extraordinary cooperation of KAFEGAMA FEB UGM and the academic community of FEB UGM in his speech. He hopes that in the future he can continue to work together to advance FEB UGM.

The next speech was given by Prof. Dr. Ainun Na’im, MBA. Chair of the Senate of FEB UGM, who stated that he was grateful for the developments in FEB UGM. In the Senate meeting, it was said that the Dean of FEB UGM had prepared facilities for us to provide both in-person and virtual lecture facilities, including asynchronous sessions. This can improve performance and efficiency to balance time between work and other needs. Furthermore, Edi Setiono, MBA. As the President Director of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan & Ratu Boko (Persero) thanked FEB UGM for the good cooperation so far. Edi explained that with the new hope and trust, the need for strategic partners was needed in competency development.

The highlight of the Shawwalan for Eid al-Fitr 1443 H event was the tausiyah given by Ustaz Dr. dr. Probosuseno, SpPD-KGer, FINASIM, SE., MM. Probosuseno explained that many humans want to develop to achieve their goals. However, not all things happen according to plan. The reason why many people commit sins is because of their ignorance, tiredness of doing good, selfish ambitions in different directions, and the influence of those who are spiteful of mankind and vengeful beings, namely demons and devils.

He emphasized that the Holy Month of Ramadan is Allah’s way to purify humans. In addition, fasting can provide goodness for humans in terms of biological, psychological, social, and spiritual wellbeing. Among them are improving blood pressure, weight, and blood pressure, accelerating healing of skin problems, and improving the health of our kidneys. In addition, fasting also makes the mind smarter because there is resilience and neuroplasticity in the brain, and can make you stay young.
