FEB UGM Provides Impact Evaluation Training for Philanthropic Institutions in Yogyakarta

Faculty of Economics and Business UGM through the Center for Equitable Transformation for Alleviating Poverty and Inequality Studies (EQUITAS), Department of Economics held an Impact Evaluation Training workshop for Philanthropic Institutions in the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province (DIY). This activity is a manifestation of FEB UGM's strong commitment to developing activities that have a social impact on society, government and business people.
The workshop, which took place on Monday, April 1 2024, was part of the Economic Clinic activity program as a form of community service to share knowledge with philanthropic institutions in DIY, especially staff who work at the Lazismu Zakat institution—presenting a number of presenters from the Department of Economics FEB UGM, namely Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Ph.D., Wisnu Setiadi Nugroho, Ph.D., Eny Sulistyaningrum, Ph.D., Dr. Evi Noor Afifah, and Jamilatuzzahro, M.Sc., from the EQUITAS. They provided presentations on impact evaluation, including theory of change and process evaluation, outcome-based planning and budgeting, and methods and practical examples of impact evaluation.
Coordinator of EQUITAS FEB UGM, Wisnu Setiadi Nugroho, S.E., M.Sc., M.A., PhD, said that this training aims to increase understanding for planners of philanthropic institutions in DIY regarding impact evaluation. In this way, philanthropic institutions, especially Lazismu DIY, will be able to measure the effectiveness of the various programs being implemented in the future.
Wisnu added that it is hoped that this training will not only improve the quality of human resources. However, the training also hopes to produce positive social impacts and achieve sustainable and inclusive development.
"This activity is expected to make FEB UGM stronger in building networks with strategic partners as a step in providing superior education, research and community service services and a societal impact on society," hoped Wishnu.
