To support the professional growth and career planning of its students, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) through the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU) introduces an innovative Career Mapping feature on the SINTESIS FEB UGM website (https://academics.feb.ugm.ac.id/). This feature is designed to help students gain insight into their career interests based on personality traits, providing a personalized roadmap for their professional journey.
The Head of CSDU, Arizona Mustika Rini, Ph.D., said that the feature was launched as a means for students to find out which careers match their personalities. Through this feature, students are expected to be able to understand the types of careers better and not choose the wrong type of career they want because they already have considerations from the results of the Career Mapping feature.
This Career Mapping feature is designed as a simple but effective questionnaire. Students are asked to respond to statements with options ranging from "Strongly Disagree" to "Strongly Agree" on a scale of 1 to 5. This allows for a deeper understanding of their preferences and tendencies. Based on these responses, students are categorized into different personality types, each with specific career recommendations.
The questionnaire only takes about 15 to 20 minutes to complete. Students will receive a detailed personality analysis about various career paths by answering a series of statements based on current conditions. The results of this assessment provide recommendations for alternative career choices that match the student's characteristics.
Aurel Diyah, a student of the Accounting Study Program, class of 2022, admitted that she was helped by the presence of the Career Mapping feature that FEB UGM recently released. "This feature helps me understand the career that suits my personality. The questionnaire is easy to follow, and the results provide relevant career recommendations. Now, I have a clearer picture of the career path I want to take," said Aurel.
CSDU continues to innovate and support FEB UGM students and ensure they are ready to face the competitive job market. The Career Mapping feature is a significant step towards achieving this mission, empowering students to make more informed decisions about their future careers.
