FEB UGM Faculty Contribute to ALMI’s Scientific Development

Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo - ALMI

Faculty members from the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) continue demonstrating their national contributions by joining the Indonesian Academy of Young Scientists (ALMI) for 2020-2029. Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., from the Department of Economics, joined ALMI, further emphasizing FEB UGM’s role in advancing science in Indonesia.

Gumilang is part of ALMI’s Science and Policy Working Group. He previously served as the Secretary General of ALMI for the period 2023-2024, alongside Prof. Dr. Gunadi, Ph.D., Sp.BA., Subsp.D.A(K)., (FKKMK UGM), who served as the Chairman of ALMI for the period 2022-2024.

ALMI is an organization for young scientists in Indonesia under the Indonesian Academy of Sciences (AIPI). Established in 2016, ALMI serves as a collaborative platform for young scientists. Gumilang’s membership in ALMI contributes to scientific development. It also strengthens FEB UGM’s role in promoting science and policy development based on research in Indonesia.

In addition to Gumilang, several other UGM faculty members are also part of ALMI, including Dr. Antonia Morita Iswari Saktiawati, Ph.D. (FKKM), Herlambang P. Wiratraman, S.H., M.A., Ph.D. (FH), Dr. Dhite Bayu Nugroho, M.Sc., Ph.D. (FKKMK), Dr.rer.nat. Ronny Martien, M.Si (Faculty of Pharmacy), and Dr. Yanri Wijayanti Subronto, PhD, SpPD-KPTI (FKKMK). A new member of ALMI is Suci Lestari Yuana, S.I.P., M.I.A. (FISIPOL).

At the ALMI Plenary Meeting on December 6, 2024, at the Universitas Negeri Malang, the Chairman of ALMI for 2022-2024, Prof. Gunadi (UGM), and the Secretary General of ALMI for 2023-2024, Dr. Gumilang Sahadewo, reported on the achievements of ALMI in its four working groups: Frontier Science, Science and Policy, Science and Society, and Science and Education.

During the plenary session, the leadership of ALMI was transferred from the outgoing Chair and Secretary General to the new Chair and Secretary General of ALMI for the period 2024-2026, Dr. Lilis Mulyani (BRIN) and Dr. Grandprix T. M. Kadja (ITB). The meeting also ratified the creation of a new working group focused on science, equity, and inclusion.
