Reuni KAFEGAMA 93

The Alumni Association of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (Kafegama), Class of 1993, organized a reunion titled Seketan Kafegama ’93 on Friday and Saturday, December 27-28, 2024, at the UC Hotel and FEB UGM.

The reunion brought together the alumni of the Class of 1993 three decades after their time as FEB UGM students. Besides serving as a nostalgic gathering to reminisce about their college days, the event also provided an opportunity to strengthen bonds among the alumni.

Fadjar Dwi, president of Kafegama ’93, expressed his gratitude to FEB UGM for welcoming the alumni back through this reunion. He emphasized how the event opened the door to reconnecting with classmates and reliving memories of their time at FEB UGM.

“We try to remember where we started and how far we’ve come to achieve even greater things. Most people see their college years as a starting point for personal growth. Now, everyone has reached their position in life, but it’s important to reflect on how the journey began,” Fadjar recalled.

This reunion was a nostalgic gathering and a moment of reflection on academic and life journeys. The launch of the Gadjah Mada Inspiration Book, a project of the Class of 1993, enhanced the warmth of the event. The book aims to document treasured stories from their time at FEB UGM and is scheduled for publication during the FEB UGM Lustrum celebration in 2025.

“After that reunion, we realized that so many stories from our college years shouldn’t go undocumented. So we initiated the Gadjah Mada Inspiration Book, a light-hearted publication that captures academic and non-academic memories,” he explained.

Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni at FEB UGM, warmly welcomed Kafegama ’93 to the event.

“We are delighted to host Kafegama ’93 because they remain united and harmonious. This is the eighth Kafegama reunion in 2024,” he stated.

Gumilang highlighted FEB UGM’s recent achievements and programs in his remarks, including integrating sustainability principles into the curriculum. He hoped that alumni would actively contribute to the development of the faculty.

“We routinely invite an alumnus from each of the three programs to speak at FEB UGM graduation ceremonies and share insights about the professional world. We hope you will take this opportunity to share your perspectives and inspire our graduating students,” he said.
