Related to the earthquake and tsunami incidents in Palu, Sigi, Donggala, Lombok, and West Sumbawa, Rector of UGM, Prof. Ir. Panut Mulyono, has issued decisions as stated below:
- Releasing the students hailing from significantly impacted areas from tuitions for one semester.
- Providing cost of living directly or indirectly to UGM students who are from disaster impacted areas.
- Providing free sit-in facilities for students from disaster impacted areas.
- Providing free dorms for the students while they are studying at UGM based on available capacities.
- Preparing counsellors from Faculty of Psychology and Gama Medical Center (GMC) to give free psychological consultation.
- Preparing special courses and module on inter-disciplines disaster issues.
Faculty of Medicine, Public Health, and Nursing UGM in collaboration with Association of State University Medical Faculties accept students of medical profession to study at UGM based on available capacity. - UGM dispatches a joint team from cross-disciplines to Palu. They will work with UGM Alumni association (KAGAMA), local government, and other related groups nationally or internationally.
- UGM will soon dispatch Student Community Service for Palu Disaster for 1 month.

The Silaturahim Forum on Islamic Economic Studies (FoSSEI) is a national forum that accommodates the members of Islamic Economic Study Groups (KSEI) throughout Indonesia to share the knowledge about the Islamic economy. Currently, there are 184 KSEI from various universities in Indonesia which consists of around 17 thousand students.

On Tuesday (25/9), FEB UGM held a public lecture on 8th floor of FEB UGM’s Learning Center building in the Auditorium with the theme of "Strategies for Optimizing State-Owned Property (BMN) Management in Fiscal Policy Management" as the series of the 63rd FEB UGM’s Dies Natalis. The speaker of this public lecture is the Minister of Finance of Republic of Indonesia, Sri Mulyani Indrawati, S.E., M.S., Ph.D., in which she conveyed the important of state-owned properties management for Indonesia.

On Friday (09/21), Faculty Economics and Business of Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) inaugurated the 7th floor of Learning Center building, namely Sapta Akasa. "Sapta Akasa, a name derived from the Sanskrit language that supposed to be has a meaning of Seventh Heaven, is a form of collaboration between FEB UGM and PT. Jakarta Setiabudi Internasional, Tbk, (PT JSI) to create a comfortable and friendly co-working space to support learning process and creativity activities of FEB’s students", explained by Ika Sariwaty as Senior HR GA & Employee Relations Manager of PT. JSI, Tbk.

They started to gather at Plaza FEB UGM at 07.00 WIB. On that day, one of the events of the 63rd FEB UGM Anniversary series was on going, namely "Family Fun Day 2018”.
