MBCC FEB UGM 2025

FEB UGM students have once again achieved success in the Mini Business Case Competition 2025, which was held online from 29 August to 4 October 2025. The competition was participated in by 80 teams from various renowned universities in Indonesia, such as ITB, UI, UGM, ITS, and UB.

In the competition, the JEV Consulting team from FEB UGM secured 2nd place. The team, consisting of Rr. Hadijah Putri Jasmine (Management 2023), Ericha Mellyana (Management 2023), and Vina Ashima Fibranawa (Accounting 2023), worked under the guidance of Azelia Alma Shafira, S.E., M.Sc.

Jasmine explained that the competition comprised two stages. In the preliminary round, participants submitted a business deck containing analysis and strategic recommendations online. The organizers then selected the ten best teams to advance to the final pitching stage, which took place via Zoom. During this stage, the finalists presented their ideas and strategies directly to a panel of professional judges.

The case study in this competition centered on BSya, the rebranding of BCA Syariah. Participants designed a branding development strategy and identified opportunities for BSya to expand its market share in the increasingly competitive Islamic banking industry. The JEV Consulting team highlighted the importance of adopting a digital approach, educating the public on Islamic finance, and collaborating with the halal ecosystem as key strategies to strengthen BSya’s market position.

Jasmine admitted that her team faced significant challenges due to their limited prior knowledge of Islamic banking and economics. She and her teammates conducted extensive research to understand the fundamental principles of Islamic banking and integrate them into modern business strategies.

With a solid team and intensive guidance from their supervisor, they successfully presented innovative and practical solutions. This success was also due to the support of the Faculty of Economics and Business, UGM, which provided mentoring facilitation through the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU) FEB UGM. This support helped the team develop strategic ideas and prepare their presentation to the fullest.

“We are delighted and proud because this is our first competition related to Islamic banking. The process was not easy, but we managed to get through it well and win the championship,” said Jasmine.
