The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), through the Center for Information Systems Studies (PKSI) and the Center for Accounting Education Studies (PKAP) FEB UGM, conducted a training session on SIDEK-ERP and a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) on the implementation of SIDEK-EDU during an industrial visit by SMK Negeri 1 Seputih Surabaya, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung, on February 6, 2025. This initiative aimed to enhance students’ competencies and familiarize them with industry-relevant technologies and systems.
The coordinator of PKSI FEB UGM, Fitri Amalia, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., explained that the training involved hands-on practice in SIDEK-ERP, covering financial transaction recording, inventory management, and financial report preparation.
“SIDEK-ERP is a web-based application we developed to support enterprise resource planning, particularly for MSMEs, in an integrated manner to enhance business efficiency. It offers various features that streamline business operations, management, and financial administration,” Fitri stated.
Participating students gained practical experience that can be directly applied in the workforce, particularly in the rapidly expanding MSME sector.
“We hope this training helps them understand the critical role of information systems in business sustainability while developing their technological skills,” she added.
Through the development of SIDEK-ERP, PKSI remains committed to improving educational quality by introducing technology aligned with business needs. This digitization effort provides MSMEs with essential tools to thrive in the digital age while equipping students with valuable practical insights into the modern business landscape.
Evaluating the Implementation of SIDEK-EDU
Alongside the training, an FGD was conducted with teachers from SMK Negeri 1 Seputih Surabaya and lecturers from FEB UGM, including Prof. Sony Warsono, MAFIS, Ak., CA., Ph.D., Arika Artiningsih, Ph.D., CFE., and Fitri Amalia, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. The discussion focused on assessing the implementation of SIDEK-EDU at SMK Negeri 1 Seputih Surabaya.
“SIDEK-EDU (Sistem Debit Kredit) was developed by PKAP FEB UGM to enhance accounting education. This FGD aims to strengthen collaboration with SMK Negeri 1 Seputih Surabaya and expand the integration of technology in education and MSME development,” Sony explained.
Beyond benefiting students and educators, this partnership aligns with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 8 (Decent Work and Economic Growth), and SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation, and Infrastructure).
“Our objective is to strengthen vocational education, cultivate a more competitive workforce, and drive economic growth by empowering MSMEs,” Arika added.
This initiative reflects PKSI and PKAP’s mission to advance accounting education and promote MSME digitalization, fostering a mutually beneficial relationship between academia and the business sector. By equipping students with skills in high demand, particularly in information technology and business management, they will be better prepared to contribute to local economic development.
“The synergy between education and business is expected to serve as a model for other educational institutions, supporting sustainable and inclusive economic growth,” Sony concluded.
