The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held a pilgrimage to the graves of the faculty’s founders, including former deans, full professors, and lecturers of FEB UGM, located in Sawitsari and Kotagede. The visit to the graves was part of the 71st anniversary celebration of FEB UGM. It was attended by the FEB UGM academic community and the FEB UGM Dharma Wanita Persatuan (DWP) on Friday, September 11, 2026.
The visit was led by the Associate Dean for Academic and Student Affairs of FEB UGM, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., and the Associate Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni Affairs of FEB UGM, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D. Before the pilgrimage, a joint prayer was held with the FEB UGM academic community at the FEB UGM campus.
Before the pilgrimage, the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., C.A., stated that the pilgrimage was held as a form of respect and to pray for predecessors, seniors, and colleagues who have contributed to the development of FEB UGM.
“Through this visit, we pray for our seniors and colleagues who have passed away, that their good deeds may be accepted. The Faculty of Economics and Business at UGM would not be what it is today without their hard work and dedication,” he said.
The visit to the Sawitsari Cemetery included stops at the graves of former deans such as Prof. Dr. Sukanto Reksohadiprodjo, M.Com., Prof. Dr. Soedijono Reksoprajitno, M.B.A., Prof. Dr. H. Bambang Riyanto, Prof. Dr. Sukadji Ranuwihardjo, Prof. Dr. H. Nopirin, M.A., Prof. Dr. Dibyo Prabowo, M.Sc., as well as other professors and lecturers from FEB. Next, a visit was made to the Kotagede cemetery to the graves of former deans, namely Prof. Kertanegara, S.H., and Dr. Soetatwo Hadiwigeno, M.A.
In addition to the cemetery visit, FEB UGM previously paid courtesy visits to retired faculty members and professional staff. These visits, held on September 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, and 9, 2026, were intended to foster closer ties with retired faculty and staff who have dedicated themselves and contributed significantly to the journey of the FEB UGM.
