FEB UGM students team won 2nd place in Diponegoro Finance National Competition 2018 at Universitas Diponegoro

Two student team from Undergraduate Program Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) won 2nd Winner and 3rd winner in Scientific Writing Competition – Diponegoro Financial National Competition (DEFINE) 2018. This competition were held on September 19-22, 2018 at Universitas Diponegoro, Semarang. The first team “Bulaksumur” consist of Sultan Alfiantsyah (Economics 2017), Muhammad Nabiel Arzyan (Economics 2016), and Rema Prostinaldo Yunanto (Economics 2017) won the second position and awarded as Best Speaker. The second team “Fulqentius” consist of Regita Yosi Utami (Economics 2016), Jonathan Farez S. (Economics 2017) and Leila Chanifah Zuhri (Accounting 2017) won the third position.

Diponegoro Financial National Competition (DEFINE) is scientific writing competition organized by Economic Finance Study Club (ECOFINSC) Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Diponegoro. In this year, the main theme was “Strategi Sektor Keuangan Indonesia dalam Menghadapi Disruptive Business Environment.” The hope is that this competition can improve the ability of students in the field of finance and ideas and ideas can be innovative breakthroughs in the Indonesian economy.

There is three stage in the competition, the first stage is abstract submission and then the second stage is submission for full paper for best abstract. From the full papers that have been collected, the best 10 are chosen and are entitled to qualify for the final stage. In the final stage, competition is carried out through 3 stages. First, the participants did a presentation about their paper. After that, the participant did a presentation about a case given by the Financial Services Authority (OJK) throughout the company visit. Lastly, the participants competed in a debate round with the topic about an economy motion which were given from the committee.

After all stages were done, finalists were invited to attend the National Seminar Economic Financial Fabulous Project (EFFECT) at Grasia Hotel, Semarang whereas the winner of this competition were also announced. The paper with the title “Indeks Harga Digital Sebagai Indikator Stabilitas Ekonomi untuk Mendorong Pasar Keuangan di Indonesia,” by Bulaksumur team won the second place and Best Speaker. The paper with titled “Restrukturalisasi Framework dan Penentuan Models of Engagement Perbankan dalam Upaya Proteksi Kapasitas Bank Sebagai Lembaga Keuangan Mikro Formal”, by Fulqentius team won the third place.
