A team from Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada FEB UGM) consisted of Airlangga Surya Kusuma (Management 2012) and Adhitya Kusuma Zaenardi (Economics 2014) represented FEB UGM in the Final Phase of Lomba Essay Nasional - Sharia Economics Fair (SEF) held by Himpunan Mahasiswa Jurusan (HMJ) Ekonomi Syariah Universitas Islam Negeri Sunan Kalijaga (UIN SUKA) on February 26, 2017. There were 10 teams from several universities, such as; Institut Pertanian Bogor, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Universitas Brawijaya, dan Universitas Diponegoro, which joined the event.

FEB UGM team presented essay entitled "The Implementation of Akad Tabarru’ dan Akad Mudharabah in Developing Sustainability of Craft Industry through Open Source Website and Islamic Crowdfunding". The essay had a good response from the judges since the idea is pretty innovative and unique in order to improve the development of craft industry in Indonesia. FEB UGM team successfully won the 2nd place in the event among Institut Pertanian Bogor, Universitas Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta, Universitas Brawijaya, dan Universitas Diponegoro. It was hoped that the achievement could inspire other students.
