Examinations

Examinations for all courses consist of one midterm exam and one final exam. The midterm exam (UTS) and final exam (UAS) are held by the Academic Office. Students who do not attend the exam will not have any other chances to participate. The rules for the Midterm Examination and Final Semester Examination are as follows:

  1. Registered as an active student by re-registering in the current ongoing semester;
  2. A 75% lecture attendance rate is mandatory as the minimum requirement to participate in the final exam (UAS);
  3. Bring the exam card that has been stamped by the faculty (students print the test card independently using manila paper provided by the Academic Office;
  4. Participants are required to bring a KTM and an identity card in the form of a KTP/SIM/Passport in each exam session to be shown to the exam supervisor;
  5. Come right on time at the scheduled time. Participants who arrive late may only enter the room with a limit of 15 minutes after the exam starts;
  6. Participants who are more than 15 minutes late are not allowed to take the exam;
  7. Occupy the assigned seat;
  8. Sign the attendance list;
  9. Participants must ensure that their work is in accordance with the instructions of the supporting lecturer to make sure there will be no problems;
  10. Examinees who do not fulfill their obligations and do not comply with the rules may be expelled from the room and their work will be deemed invalid;
  11. Examinees are prohibited from leaving the exam room during the exam. If they leave, it is considered that the exam has been completed and they are not allowed to take the exam again; and
  12. Examinees are required to uphold academic integrity and ethics by avoiding academic fraud and plagiarism because it will have an impact on them not passing the course. Participants who commit fraud will be reprimanded by the supervisor and recorded on the Minutes of Examination (BAU).

Examination Session

  • Session 1 = 7.15 – 9.15 WIB
  • Session 2 = 9.30 – 11.30 WIB
  • Session 3 = 11.45 – 13.45 WIB
  • Session 4 = 14.00 – 16.00 WIB
  • Session 5 = 16.15 – 18.15 WIB

Examination Schemes

  1. Take home exam
    Exams are given to students with a take-home form and are collected through an exam platform determined by the course-supporting lecturer.
  2. Offline – offline
    Examinations are held in full offline mode; students come to campus and take the exam by hand.
  3. Offline – online
    Examinations are held with the scheme of students coming to campus and bringing laptops or other devices and taking the exams online through a platform determined by the supporting lecturer.
  4. Other relevant assignments
    Examinations are given by the supporting lecturer to students by giving assignments or other activities that are relevant and equivalent to the weight of the Midterm Exam or Final Exam.

Students are allowed to submit an exam replacement request with the following conditions:

  1. Referring to class attendance regulations
    1. Hospitalized: proven by an authentic hospitalization letter with an official stamp.
    2. The death of a family member (father, mother, grandfather, grandmother, brother, sister, child): evidenced by a death certificate from an authorized official (family letter/RT/RW or death certificate).
    3. Faculty and/or university duties (such as carrying the name of the study program, department, faculty, or university while participating in competitions or conferences) as evidenced by a statement letter from the Vice Dean of Academic and Student Affairs.
    4. Religious events which cannot be scheduled beforehand, e.g.: hajj/pilgrimage. Students must show travel documents as proof.
  2. Procedure for submitting a replacement exam:
    1. Students submit a replacement exam request letter addressed to the Head of the Undergraduate Study Program.
    2. Academic Officers process the request for a replacement exam to the course’s lecturer signed by the Head of the Study Program.
    3. The letter is sent to the course’s lecturer, along with a copy for the student.

Communication and Negotiation as the Keys to Effective Leadership

Communication and negotiation skills are the main foundations of effective leadership. According to Alfath Bagus Panuntun El Nur Indonesia, M.A., lecturer at the Department of Politics and Government, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FISIPOL UGM), being a leader is not only about speaking well but also about inspiring and moving others toward a shared goal.

“Leadership is not merely about holding a position or power, but the art of influencing others to move toward a common purpose,” he explained during the Mandatory Soft Skills session titled “Communication and Negotiation Skill” on Friday (October 31, 2025) at Djarum Hall, Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM.

He emphasized that a leader’s communication style and negotiation approach reflect their core leadership values.
