Attended as the speaker, Denni Puspa Purbasari, M.Sc., Ph.D. as Deputy III at Presidential Staff Office.
Denni conveyed that the key to great leadership is the ability to recognize and understand yourself. "Find your talent, speak up for your dream, and make them come true", explained Denni. The most important thing is making the talent as a power. Talent must be consistently explored to make it a positive and potential impact. ‘Start with the talent, ends with the power. Focus on our talents and overcome the weakness”, said the lecturer of Economics Department of FEB UGM.
Furthermore, personal branding is essential to have to be a charismatic leader. Authentic leadership starts with personal branding. This holder of a Ph.D. degree from the University of Colorado at Boulder, USA, explained that authentic leadership is a mixture of heart, purpose, value, self-discipline, and network. Personal branding plays a vital role to achieve our goals. "To be a leader who is useful to the society, we need to build a personal brand that represents our goals, choose the audience, and make sure that the visibility of our personal brand is relevant and valuable", explained the former of Secretary of Economics Department of FEB UGM.
Denni said, "If you want to be the top leader, we need to be well-known, do your assignment, audience, networks, and exposure". Be honest and humble, so people will see the real you. Do some self-assessment to our effect in leading the culture and innovation”. Students seemed excited to listen to the speech given by Denni. Hopefully, this event would be useful for the students to find their potency and be great leaders.
