Friday (26/5), the Asian Development Bank (ADB) and the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held a Career Presentation to introduce ADB to students who are interested in having a career at ADB as well as introduce the profile and focus of ADB's scope of operations. The Career Presentation presented Said Zaidansyah as Deputy Country Director of Indonesia Resident Mission ADB, Pierre Dyens as Principal Human Resource Specialist, and Geraldine de Asis as Associate Human Resource Officer. This event was held on the 8th floor of the FEB UGM Learning Center. This career preparation was carried out openly and was attended by UGM students.
The Career Presentation session began with an introduction to the ADB Country Partnership Strategy 2020-2024 by Said. ADB underscores sustainable development that is inclusive and competitive post COVID-19. ADB realizes this through improving well-being, accelerating economic recovery, and strengthening resilience. ADB supports these concerns in Asian countries through funding and empowering governments and clients. Specifically, Indonesia also received advice from ADB, consisting of three pillars: planning & design, assessing impacts, and mobilizing finance.
The Career Presentation continues with the introduction of ADB recruitment. Pierre explained ADB's operational model, primarily through four key shifts that can strengthen ADB in achieving the 2030 goals and facing global challenges. In this regard, ADB explained that full-time recruitment requires students and alums to meet several criteria, including six years of professional experience, international experience, good leadership and managerial skills, and specialization in a field. ADB also offers a two-month project-oriented internship program for Master's or Ph.D students with sovereign and non-sovereign operational knowledge.
It continued; ADB, as the Associate HR Officer Geraldine, explained some of the optimal interview preparations and prepared documents properly. He adjusted this to ADB's organizational culture and criteria so recruiters would get valuable insights, especially when applying to programs offered by ADB. The Career Presentation ended with a question and answer session, which was enthusiastically attended by the audience.
