Faculty of Economics and Business UGM held International Week (IWeek) 2017, 4th event this year. IWeek is a short term academic program designed for professionals and for both undergraduate and graduate students to get bigger understanding of ASEAN and to get opportunity to work in team with diversity skill. As it said by Dr. Paripurna, M. Hum., LLM, Vice Rector for Cooperation and Alumni UGM in his opening speech. This two weeks program will start on 24 July-4 August 2014. There are 37 UGM students, 10 non UGM students, and 16 students from Sweden, France, Brunei, the Netherland, Thailand, Japan, and Denmark following the program.

Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) cooperation with the Australian National University (ANU) – Indonesia Project held policy discussion forum titled “Mubyarto Public Policy Forum”. The event which was attended by more than 150 participants (lecturers, bureaucrats/officials, practitioners, bankers, NGOs and students), was held on 10 May 2017 in Kertanegara Room, FEB UGM. The public lecture is an annual event dedicated for Professor Mubyarto, an economist from UGM who had interest in rural economics.

On Friday (7/4/17), Department of Accounting Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held a guest lecture from Ernst & Young (EY) with the theme “Audit Planning and Risk Assessment.” The event was held in Djarum Hall, Pertamina Tower and was attended by around 150 undergraduate accounting students of FEB UGM. The invited speaker was Mr. Agung Purwanto. He is an audit partner at EY and was also FEB UGM’s alumni. Prof. Mahfud Sholihin as a Vice Dean of Academic FEB UGM opened this event with some remarks to students. He explained that the event was held as part of Auditing subject in the Accounting Department FEB UGM. He expected that students will gain valuable insights from practitioner about the particular topic and hopefully it would deepen the students’ understanding of the Auditing subject.

Year 2017 marks the 25th anniversary of sharia financial institutions establishment in Indonesia. Its development, however, is not as good as expected. Currently, the market shares is still under 5 percent of entire national banking assets. This condition prompted the Financial Services Authority (OJK) in collaboration with Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) to organise Training of Trainers (TOT) of Sharia Finance on the campus of Faculty of Economics and Business UGM.

Thursday (16/2) Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) was visited by Saxion University of Applied Science from the Netherlands. The representative, Evelyn Eijkelenkamp delivered a guest lecture titled Intercultural Communication at Djarum Auditorium, Pertamina Tower 6th floor. Besides FEB UGM’s students, international students from France, Japan, Austria, the Netherland and Taiwan were also attending the lecture.

Friday, (10/2) KAFEGAMA 1990 held reunion in Plaza FEB UGM. According to Sonia Paramartha, chairman of KAFEGAMA 1990 reunion, this event is the first reunion after 27 years they graduated from FEB (formerly named FE). Thus, title of the reunion was "Silver Reunion + 2 years".
