The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), hosted a delegation from the Singapore Institute of Management (SIM) on Wednesday, February 19, 2025, to explore potential educational partnerships.
SIM representative Mohamad Johan Bin Azman was warmly received by FEB UGM’s Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Collaboration, and Alumni, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, S.E., M.A., Ph.D., at the FEB UGM Dean’s Office. The discussion primarily focused on the possibility of establishing an articulation program that would enable FEB UGM students to complete part of their studies at SIM through a credit transfer or dual degree arrangement. At the master’s level, SIM offers an articulation program allowing FEB UGM students to complete four years of study at UGM, followed by an additional year at SIM to earn a degree from one of SIM’s partner universities.
Technical aspects such as credit transfer mechanisms, curriculum alignment, and synchronization of learning outcomes to meet industry and market demands were also key points of discussion. Both institutions agreed to further assess their respective curricula to ensure seamless implementation of the proposed programs. Additionally, the meeting explored the potential for organizing an educators’ conference, aimed at bringing together academic professionals from across the region to exchange ideas, share experiences, and strengthen academic collaboration.
