The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), is once again supporting students during the Midterm Examination (UTS) period of the 2026/2027 Academic Year, held from October 5 to 16, 2026, through the Mood Booster program. Initiated by the Career and Student Development Unit (CSDU), the program offers various forms of support, including free breakfast, affirmation stickers, and the Wall of Hope. In this space, students can write down their hopes and share positive messages.
Dean of FEB UGM, Dr. Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., explained that the Mood Booster program reflects the faculty’s commitment to maintaining students’ motivation and well-being, particularly during the midterm examination period.
“During the midterm examinations, we provide the Mood Booster program and a psychological consultation corner for students. By addressing both physical and psychological needs, we hope to create a more positive atmosphere, help students feel happier, and enable them to achieve their best academic results,” he explained.
CSDU FEB UGM psychologist Anisa Yuliandri, S.Psi., M.Psi., Psikolog, viewed students’ enthusiasm for the program as a positive sign. She explained that Mood Booster supports students in maintaining regular eating habits and taking breaks during their academic activities.
“For students, the examination period can be quite demanding. We hope this program serves as a reminder that taking care of one’s health and well-being is also an important part of the learning process,” she said.
The program has received positive feedback from students. Syatira Bahady, a 2025 student in the Accounting Study Program, shared that the free breakfast initiative had been very helpful throughout the midterm examination period. As a student living away from home, she found that the program eased her worries about having breakfast before her exams.
“We need to arrive early because the breakfast runs out very quickly. However, this shows how meaningful and helpful the program is for students,” she said.
A similar sentiment was expressed by D’Phita Ferraria Arseto, a 2025 student in the Accounting Study Program. She explained that the demanding study schedule during examinations sometimes left her with little time to prepare her own meals. The free breakfast program helped her save money while ensuring she had something to eat before starting her activities.
“I hope this program will continue in the years to come,” she said.
Through the Mood Booster program, FEB UGM seeks to foster a supportive academic environment by prioritizing students’ physical health, psychological well-being, and comfort throughout their university experience, particularly during midterm examinations. The provision of free breakfast and psychological consultation services is expected to help students maintain their physical and emotional well-being during this demanding period. In turn, students can approach their examinations with greater peace of mind, maintain their motivation to learn, and make the most of their academic potential. This initiative further underscores FEB UGM’s commitment to creating a supportive, inclusive learning environment that addresses students’ needs holistically.
