The training was conducted at the Auditorium of the Learning Center building, FEB UGM, with the participants as many as 100 staffs from all units of the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM.

In this training, the staffs were given two sessions with three materials, the first session was the Bio-Psycho-Socio-Spiritual Holistic seminar by Dr. dr. Zaenal Muttaqien, AIFM, and the second session was public speaking material delivered by Ninda Nindiani, MA and social media management material delivered by Surahyo Sumarsono, M.Eng.

The first session was delivered by Dr. dr. Zaenal Muttaqien, AIFM, with the topic of the importance of physical health, social and spiritual for the staffs to create a balance of life. In this session, he conveyed that it is important for every individual to meet their body physical need according to their age by doing exercise actively in order to avoid excessive work pressure and feel fit all day long. Continued with the second session by Ninda, she explained that effective communication and public speaking basically had the same meaning as they both influenced each others. Public speaking is the art of speaking by promoting ethics and etiquette, in order to convey information and ideas to gain the trust and support from others. She emphasized that every individual should always eager to learn and practice to explore and sharpen the potential that already existed in each of them in order to reduce mistakes in speaking. Ninda’s presentation was enlivened by playing chain words games as indicators of clarity in delivering information in communication.

Meanwhile, Surahyo explained about Ethics in media, including how to turn social media that we often use such as Facebook, Tweeter, Instagram, etc. into something useful, not only for reading unreasonable news and become misguided by hoaxes. On this occasion, he also provided an overview of the ITE law which could ensnare any user account who violated the laws with severe penalties. Misused of social media and violations of the ethics of communicating on social media will not only affect the person but also the institution.

During the question and answer session, the participants enthusiastically asked various questions to the two speakers in which one of them was a question related to recording carried out by the service provider for investigation purposes. “This material is given so that we will be more confident in maintaining and improving the quality of services to students, lecturers, and other stakeholders,” said Head of the Administrative Office of FEB UGM, Agus Ridwan, SP.
