The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), has admitted 613 new undergraduate students for the 2026 academic year. The incoming cohort comprises 432 students in the Regular Program and 181 in the International Undergraduate Program (IUP).
“This year, FEB UGM proudly welcomes 613 new undergraduate students, comprising 432 students in the Regular Program and 181 students in the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). Coming from various regions across Indonesia, you make this campus a true ‘Mini Indonesia’—a diverse, inclusive learning environment built on mutual respect and tolerance,” said the Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., C.A., during the opening of PIONIR SIMFONI (Faculty of Economics and Business Student Orientation and Initiation Program) on Wednesday (August 5) at the FEB UGM Plaza.
PIONIR SIMFONI 2026 carries the theme “The Dynamics of Young Gadjah Mada Minds in Indonesia’s Academic Freedom” and takes place over two days, August 5–6, 2026. Didi explained that PIONIR SIMFONI 2026 marks a special occasion to welcome and introduce the new students to their second home—the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada. It is here that they will learn, grow, be challenged, and be prepared to become future leaders with integrity who are committed to contributing to society.
“PIONIR SIMFONI is more than just a welcoming ceremony. It signifies the official beginning of the intellectual journey of the 2026 Gadjah Mada students (Gamada), a journey shaped by UGM’s core values and distinctive character that sets you apart from students at any other university,” Didi said.
He further emphasized that at FEB UGM, students will gain more than knowledge in economics and business. They will also be encouraged to uphold integrity, cultivate empathy, develop innovative leadership, and foster a strong sense of solidarity within the spirit of Indonesia’s unity.
On the occasion, Didi encouraged the new students to make the most of their university experience by learning beyond the classroom. In addition to pursuing academic excellence, he urged them to actively participate in student organizations, engage in sports, and express themselves through the arts, as these experiences will enrich both their personal and professional development.
“The success of your journey at FEB UGM will be determined by the choices you make starting today. Set your intentions with purpose and make your best commitment not only to yourselves, but also to your loved ones who support your journey, especially your parents, who always mention your names in every heartfelt prayer,” he concluded.
