On Thursday (23/11), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) was again proud because its students, Ali Alexander (Management 2021), Huineng Suluh Hidayat Jati (Management 2019) and Muhammad Firdaus Ar Ridho (Management 2019) succeeded in winning first place and first runner-up in the Certified Security Analyst (CSA) Research Competition 2023 for the college student category. CSA Research Competition 2023 is an international competition organized by the Institute and the Indonesian Securities Analysts Association. They won this championship on November 23 at Menara 165 Jakarta. Ali and his team’s victory is in line with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), goals 4: Quality Education and 8: Decent Economic Growth.
Ali Alexander and Elsa Firlyani (Property Management and Valuation SV 2021), namely the Pairgrowth team, won this competition by researching the issuer PT Indofood Sukses Makmur Tbk (ICBP) using the Top Down Approach. The Pairgrowth team also calculates macroeconomic aspects, industry, company profile, competitive advantage, general and specific risks, finance, valuation (DCF, DDM, multiple valuation), and technical analysis. Ali also explained that his team utilized the LAMP FEB UGM studio to make creative videos for interesting and substantial Pairgrowth team presentations. Then, in the final stage, Ali and the team got a banking issuer, namely PT Bank BCA Tbk (BBCA), for analysis. Pairgrowth analyzed this issuer in a short time using a comprehensive analysis, which will later be presented persuasively through a final presentation. Apart from the Pairgrowth team, FEB UGM also contributed the first Runner Up winner, in the same category, namely Valiant Ventures, consisting of Huineng Suluh Hidayat Jati (Management 2019) and Muhammad Firdaus Ar Ridho (Management 2019).
Ali stated, “We hope to apply this knowledge in the real world and make a meaningful contribution to the financial industry.” Congratulations to the Pairgrowth and Valiant Ventures teams for their proud achievements. Hopefully, it continues to inspire.
