The Faculty of Economics and Business, University of Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) continues to affirm its commitment to contribute to increasing the capacity of Human Resources (HR). On Monday (15/03), the Audit Board of the Republic of Indonesia (BPK RI) represented by Vice Chairman of the Audit Board Agus Joko Pramono together with Member V BPK / Head of State Financial Audit V Bahrullah Akbar held a meeting with the Dean of FEB UGM, Eko Suwardi. Held at the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM Building, this meeting discussed the implementation of the BPK Scholarship for the Master of Accountancy Special Class Program of FEB UGM in 2021.

In his remarks, the Vice Chairman of the BPK said that this meeting was intended to synergize the existing concept of education at FEB UGM as a theoretical university institution, with the BPK as a practical institution, so that later it is hoped that two models will be brought together, namely the theoretical model and the practical model.

The Vice Chairman of the BPK explained that in the scholarship program that will be implemented, BPK hopes to get those who also have knowledge that can be used to carry out direct practice at the BPK.

“The BPK wants an emphasis on certain points in the material provided in the lecture process. Emphasis on the material in the given courses using the risk register that is owned by the BPK,” said the Vice Chairmanof the BPK.

Regarding the risk register, the Vice Chairman of the BPK explained that the BPK already has a risk register that has been used in policy making to solve problems that exist within the BPK. To understand about the practice in the field carried out by BPK, it is hoped that students who take part in this lecture program can mitigate the risk register by using the theories that have been studied at FEB UGM.

“By studying the risk register, students who will take part in this scholarship program will be the best to mitigate risks that do occur in the field,” said the Deputy Chairman of the BPK.

In addition, Member V BPK in his speech said that there was a need for harmony between the skills that BPK auditors had with academic thoughts. Moreover, according to him, FEB UGM already has professional standards, and BPK wants the output produced from this Master of Accounting scholarship graduate to study risk management from the BPK profile.

“We hope that the lecture material provided by FEB UGM can refresh students to understand how theoretically they should provide an opinion in examining the financial reports of the central or regional government,” he hoped.

The Dean of FEB UGM, Eko Suwardi, welcomed this collaboration and said that the collaboration to hold the BPK Scholarship for the Special Class Program for Master of Accountancy FEB UGM was a form of BPK RI’s trust in FEB UGM.

“The collaboration between FEB UGM and BPK RI is a form of trust from the highest financial authority in Indonesia to FEB UGM to increase the human resource capacity of BPK RI members,” said Eko.

FEB UGM and BPK RI will jointly compile a curriculum for auditing auditors, and will collaborate in compiling a case book based on existing cases in Indonesia.

“BPK RI gives trust to FEB UGM to organize student employees scholarship, and in September it will increase the number of employees”, added Eko regarding the mechanism for organizing the scholarship.

Also attending the meeting was Main Auditor of State Finance V Akhsanul Khaq, Principal Auditor of Investigation Hery Subowo, Head of BPK Representative of the Special Region of Yogyakarta Province, Jariyatna, Head of the Center for Certification and Development of Education and Training for State Financial Audit Gunarwanto and Chair of the Master of Accounting Study Program, Faculty of Economics and UGM Business Abdul Halim as well as structural officials within the Republic of Indonesia’s BPK.
