Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) has once again collaborated with Tokocrypto through the launch of BlockSpace, a facility provided to learn about blockchain technology and ecosystems. This event will be held online through Zoom Meetings on Friday (08/03) at 09.30 WIB. The creation of this event is expected to birth innovation and increase literacy among students and the wider community regarding blockchain.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, SE, M.Com., Akt. as the Dean of FEB UGM, accepted with open arms the cooperation proposed by Tokocrypto. Prof. Didi stated that the use of crypto is interesting to study in a multidisciplinary manner. This is because when viewed from a regulatory perspective, the Indonesian Republic still does not allow it. However, technology is available everywhere and has been applied in several fields. It is hoped that this collaboration can equip students with the knowledge and help prepare those who have the ability and competence in managing digital technology, especially in the field of blockchain.
Meanwhile, Teguh Kurniawan Harmanda, as Chief Operating Officer (COO), of Tokocrypto also hopes that this collaboration will not merely be any other collaboration, but also a positive influence that will change people’s views on crypto as more than just a unit of the price that goes up and down. Tokocrypto has prepared several curricula that are being tested on campuses that have previously collaborated with Tokocrypto. Mr. Teguh stated that the existence of an innovation center in the form of BlockSpace is a form of encouragement from Tokocrypto, so that the younger generation can be smarter in recognizing and innovating blockchain that will prove to be impactful on society and the country.
This collaboration provides great benefits not just for students, but also for lecturers and researchers. The existence of the BlockSpace allows students to find out more about crypto through the work programs being offered , in the form of practical implementatio, which will be integrated into elective courses worth two credits. In addition, lecturers can also conduct research on crypto, which can then be linked to the money market and viewed from an economic perspective or other fields.
The highlight of this event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding, which signified the collaboration between FEB UGM and Tokocrypto. The signing was carried out by Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, SE, M.Com., Akt. as the Dean of FEB UGM, and Teguh Kurniawan Harmanda, as the Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Tokocrypto. Furthermore, the event was closed with a photo session between FEB UGM and Tokocrypto.
