FEB UGM cooperates with UiTM Cawangan Kelantan and MFL University

On Wednesday, (02/11) the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) UGM signed a cooperation agreement with Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Cawangan Kelantan, Malaysia (https://kelantan.uitm.edu.my), and Mae Fah Luang (MFL) University, Thailand (https://en.mfu.ac.th/). The event was held through Zoom Meetings and was attended by Prof. Dr. Haji Abdul Samad bin Nawi as Chancellor of UiTM Cawangan Kelantan, Dr. Piyatida Pianluprashid as the Dean of the MFL University, School of Management, Thailand, and Prof. Didi Achdjari M.Com., Ak., CA as the Dean of FEB UGM.

The collaboration between Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand is in the field of research, represented by Prof. Dr. Marzianah Madah Marzuki from the Faculty of Accounting UiTM Cawanagn Kelantan with Associate Dean Prof. Dr. Dej-an Bungkilo from the School of Management MFL University, Thailand. In addition, the research entitled “The effect of transformational leadership, and dynamic capabilities on the adaptation of digital technology among small and medium enterprises SME’s” between Indonesia and Malaysia, represented by Dr. Wan Marhaini Wan Omar from the Faculty of Business and Management UiTM Cawangan Kelantan, Malaysia together with Dr. Nurul Indarti a representative from FEB UGM, Indonesia.

The event opened with a speech given by Dr. Haji Abdul Samad bin Nawi Chancellor of UiTM Cawangan Kelantan. He is delighted with the cooperation in international research between Malaysia, Indonesia, and Thailand. Abdul Samad views the partnership positively, very optimistic, and looks forward to good possibilities in the future.

Furthermore, Dr. Piyatida Pianluprashid as the Dean School of Management MFL University, Thailand said that the collaboration with UGM regarding the school of social innovation has begun and joint research and publications have been carried out. He considered that this was a good collaboration for the future. Pianluprashid looks forward to the future of this collaboration and hopes that in the future it can contribute to society and the community.

The last remarks were given by Prof. Didi Achdjari M.Com., Ak., CA as the Dean of FEB UGM. According to Didi, this collaboration is a stepping stone for SMEs in adopting digital technology. He hopes that this collaboration can be beneficial for entrepreneurs and policymakers in Indonesia and Malaysia.

The essence of this event was the signing Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) between the Faculty of Economics and Business UGM, the School of Management MFL University, Thailand, Faculty of Business and Management UiTM Cawangan Kelantan. The signing of the MOA was represented by Prof. Dr. Haji Abdul Samad, Dr. Piyatida Pianluprasid, and Prof. Didi Achdjari M.Com., Ak., CA. Finally, the event closed with a group photo session and the giving of mementos between universities.
