MBKM Provisions

Merdeka Belajar Program – Kampus Merdeka (MBKM) is a program that gives students the right to study outside the study program and provides space for students to carry out learning that is centered on the program.

MBKM Programs:

  1. Kampus Mengajar
  2. Magang dan Studi Independen Bersertifikat (MSIB)
  3. Pertukaran Mahasiswa Merdeka (PMM)
  4. Wirausaha Merdeka
  5. Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA)
  6. Bangkit by Google, GoTo, and Traveloka
  7. Gerakan Inisiatif Listrik Tenaga Surya (Gerilya)

A. Pre-KRS SIMASTER

  1. Students who have passed the admission selection for the MBKM Program are required to provide information along with proof of acceptance to the MBKM FEB UGM team via email (mbkm.feb@ugm.ac.id).
  2. Students who have passed the MBKM program selection are required to complete the Pre-KRS. The following is the pre-KRS SIMASTER filling period for the MBKM program

  4. Information regarding Learning Agreement:
    • Students are obliged to send the MBKM Program’s learning agreement along with the syllabus and supporting documents which explains the program’s activity. Send the documents through the email mbkm.feb@ugm.ac.id.
    • Learning agreement can be donwloaded on http://bit.ly/InfoSWPDC, select PROGRAM MBKM, and select the documents.
    • MBKM team will send the learning agreement back to the student after it is approved and signed by the Head of the Study Program. Students then conduct the Pre-KRS Simaster process.
  5. Maximum credit for bachelor degree is 24 each semester. Students are obliged to leave credit spaces on the ongoing semester for the MBKM program credit transfer.
  6. Students correspondece with only one email thread (do not communicate with any email disconnected to the thread), until the end of the MBKM program including the administration process. The use of one thread email is intended so that the MBKM team can monitor progress/monitor student activities and get decent data records.
  7. For International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), coomunication is conducted through email outgoing.feb@ugm.ac.id.
  8. Approved transferred credits which has been included on the Pre-KRS will be integrated with the study plan. There is no need for students to conduct the independent course registration on the course selection period (KRS) since Pre-KRS and regular KRS are two different schemes.

B. Each Study Progam MBKM’s Conversion Provisions and Scheme

  1. Accounting Bachelor Degree
    1. Students who have passed the MBKM program selection are not allowed to resign
    2. Students are allowed to take courses while participating in the MBKM Program, with the following conditions:
      1. Students provide information to partners and obtained approval
      2. MBKM activities and lectures do not interfere with each other
      3. Students take full responsibility should there is a schedule that coincides with lectures during the implementation of the MBKM program. The study program does not provide special dispensation related to lecture activities for students taking part in MBKM program
    3. Students can apply for conversion in the form of:
      1. Recognition/conversion to courses credit up to 20 credits and recorded activities on the Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah (SKPI)
      2. Recorded on SKPI
      3. Students are required to fill in SIMASTER during judiciary/graduation while writing SKPI.
    4. Courses requirements which can be applied for conversion:
      1. Elective courses in the curriculum used by students.
      2. A new course with the name of “Independence Campus Independent Learning Program…(amount)…SKS”
    5. Conversion of courses from the MBKM Program are counted as elective courses and are included in the calculation of the credits number required for graduation.
    6. Converted MBKM grades are in accordance with the grades given by the MBKM Program partners listed in the transcript.
    7. Students who need a Field Supervisor (DPL) can submit an application via email mbkm.feb@ugm.ac.id at the start of the MBKM Program along with the supervisor’s duties and functions during the mentoring. We strongly recommend students to communicate with partners in advance regarding supervisor’s needs.
    8. Students who take the thesis in the current semester (2022/2023 Even Semester) (fill in the Thesis KRS), the maximum number of credits that can be submitted for conversion from the MBKM Program is 18 credits.
    9. j. If in the current semester (Even 2022/2023) students take thesis along with the implementation of the MBKM program, then the process and thesis guidance scheme will be carried out in accordance with the Thesis Advisory Lecturer (DPS) policy and the agreement between the student and the lecturer. Students can communicate further with their respective DPS.
    10. Students can register for thesis defense and take comprehensive exams/UKBK while carrying out the MBKM Program. However, graduation documents such as a Surat Keterangan Lulus (SKL) and the judiciary and graduation registration process will be issued by the Academic Section after all the activities and administration of the MBKM Program have been completed between students and partners, Kampus Merdeka, and the Faculty.
  2. Economics Bachelor Degree
    1. Students who have passed the MBKM program selection are not allowed to resign.
    2. Students are allowed to take courses while participating in the MBKM Program, with the following conditions:
      1. Students provide information to partners and obtained approval
      2. MBKM activities and lectures do not interfere with each other
      3. Students take full responsibility should there is a schedule that coincides with lectures during the implementation of the MBKM program. The study program does not provide special dispensation related to lecture activities for students taking part in MBKM program
    3. Students can apply for conversion in the form of:
      1. Recognition/conversion to courses credit up to 9 credits (20 credits conversion for IISMA program participants only) and recorded activities on the Surat Keterangan Pendamping Ijazah (SKPI)
      2. Recorded on SKPI
      3. Students are required to fill in SIMASTER during judiciary/graduation while writing SKPI.
    4. Courses requirements which can be applied for conversion:
      1. Elective courses in the curriculum used by students.

  3. Management (Business) Bachelor Degree
    1. Students who have passed the MBKM program selection are not allowed to resign.
    2. Students who take part in the MBKM Program in the current semester (Even 2022/2023) are allowed to take a maximum of 4 credits of courses, with the following conditions:
      1. Students provide information to partners and obtained approval
      2. MBKM activities and lectures do not interfere with each other
      3. Students take full responsibility should there is a schedule that coincides with lectures during the implementation of the MBKM program. The study program does not provide special dispensation related to lecture activities for students taking part in MBKM program
    3. Students who are currently in their 8th semester cannot take thesis and MBKM program simultaneously, since it will exceed the maximum credits limit number per semester for undergraduate students, which is 24 credits (an example of calculation if students take thesis and MBKM simultaneously) concurrently: 20 credits from the MBKM Program conversion + 6 thesis credits = 26 credits). Therefore, students will carry out informal thesis guidance and will receive an informal Thesis Supervisor (DPS) allocation while the MBKM program is running. Then, in the 9th semester, students carry out the Thesis and conduct a comprehensive Thesis and trial at least two months after receiving the formal DPS allocation.
    4. The informal thesis supervisor during the MBKM program will be the same as the informal thesis supervisor that has been allocated while taking Seminar courses for students who have already taken Seminar courses before participating in the MBKM Program, , students can continue the mentoring session with the lecturer. Should the students have not taken Seminar courses, students can apply for conversion of the MBKM Program, one of which is to Seminar courses and will receive an allocation of informal thesis supervisors.
    5. Students who need Field Supervisors (DPL) can apply directly to the lecturer via email. Students are asked to contact the MBKM program from the start alongside with information regarding the DPL’s duties and functions of the DPL during the mentoring. We strongly recommend that students communicate with partners in advance regarding DPL needs. If the lecturer is willing, the student could submit an email to mbkm.feb@ug.ac.id accompanied by approval proof for further processing.
    6. Students who have received DPL allocations for the MBKM program and are committed to continuing and developing the results of the MBKM program that have been implemented into thesis topics, the allocation of Informal Thesis Advisors will be the same as the DPL that has been allocated in the MBKM program. If students are not committed to continuing and developing the results of the MBKM program that have been implemented as a thesis topic, students will receive DPS allocations in accordance with the study program policies.

C. Pasca Program

  1. Students are required to submit post-MBKM Program documents a maximum of 14 days before the next semester’s KRS period begins. Following are the post-MBKM Program documents that must be submitted by students.
    1. Accepted learning agreement from Head of Study Program*
    2. MBKM activity report (the format can be adapted to the format from the Kampus Merdeka)*
    3. Worksheet/logbook which explains the activities done on the MBKM Program*
    4. Personal testimony on participating in the MBKM Program (free format)*
    5. Official transcript/grades from MBKM Program partner*
      The format of the assessment form or transcript is endeavored to have values in the form of numeric grades and letter grades as well as a conversion scheme from numeric grades to letter grades. If no conversion scheme is available from partners, then the conversion process will be in accordance with the provisions that apply at UGM.
    6. Official internship cover letter from the faculty *
    7. Certificate
    8. Progaram’s Syllabus*
    9. Other Supporting Document(s).

    Documents with (*) are obligatory to be submitted.
    All documents to be sent through mbkm.feb@ugm.ac.id emaik in pdf format and not in zip file.

  2. Specifically for the International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA) program, the post-program documents that must be submitted are as follows:
    1. Signed learning Agreement from home university and host university
    2. Syllabus
    3. Testimony
    4. Official Transcript

    All documents to be sent through outgoing.feb@ugm.ac.id email in pdf format and not in zip file.

  3. Students are required to apply for a lecturer evaluation bypass for the current semester (Even 2022/2023) since the mobility program is being implemented.
