The Faculty of Economics and Business of Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) has achieved remarkable recognition at the university level. UGM has ranked five of FEB UGM’s courses as the most popular and active Massive Open Online Courses (MOOCs) within its community.
UGM’s Directorate of Academic Development and Innovation Studies (DKIA) reported that Statistics 1 is among the top 5 most popular courses. Furthermore, four other courses, namely Digital Business, taught by Gunawan Wibisono, S.E., M.Acc., CA.; Systems Analysis and Design, taught by Gunawan Wibisono, S.E., M.Acc, CA.; Financial Management, taught by Prof. Dr. Mamduh M. Hanafi, M.B.A.; and Portfolio Theory and Investment Analysis, taught by Prof. Dr. Tandelilin Eduardus, M.B.A., were included in the top 5 active courses, demonstrating FEB UGM’s dominance in this area.
The eLOK platform categorized MOOCs into Top Courses by analyzing which courses attracted the most participants. Meanwhile, it calculated the Active Courses category based on the ratio of participant engagement to the course’s total learning activities.
FEB UGM’s Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D., expressed his appreciation for the hard work of the faculty in creating innovative multimedia-based learning products.
“FEB UGM is very proud of the achievement of these five courses as the most popular and active MOOCs at UGM,” he said on Thursday (Jan. 30, 2025) at the FEB UGM campus.
Bayu explained that FEB UGM encourages its faculty to develop innovative multimedia-based learning products and supports them by providing various facilities and incentives.
This achievement reflects FEB UGM’s commitment to providing high-quality, innovative, and relevant learning experiences in the digital age. It also demonstrates FEB UGM’s tangible contribution to UGM’s vision of becoming a globally excellent university. In the future, FEB UGM will continue to develop more popular MOOC courses that enhance the quality of learning and positively impact students and the wider community.
