FEB Overview Program Sarjana 2025

The Faculty of Economics and Business at Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) introduced its three undergraduate programs—Accounting, Economics, and Management—during the FEB Overview event. Held on Thursday (March 6, 2025), the session was live-streamed on FEB UGM’s Instagram, YouTube, and Facebook platforms. The event served as both a promotional platform and an interactive communication channel, allowing the audience to learn more about FEB UGM’s undergraduate programs.

The session featured three key speakers: I Wayan Nuka Lantara, M.Si., Ph.D., Head of the Management Program; Sekar Utami Setiastuti, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of the Economics Program; and Wuri Handayani, S.E., Ak., M.Si., M.A., Ph.D., Secretary of the Accounting Program.

Accounting Program Integrates AI and Information Systems

The overview session provided valuable insights into FEB UGM’s undergraduate programs, particularly the Accounting program. Wuri Handayani explained that the program extends beyond conventional accounting practices by integrating technological advancements, including artificial intelligence (AI), digital technology, and information systems.

“We revised the 2022 curriculum to anticipate industry demands, environmental changes, and technological developments—this is what differentiates us from other universities,” said Wuri Handayani, S.E., Ak., M.Si., M.A., Ph.D.

The program offers eight specialized courses in accounting and information systems, including Information Technology Systems (ITS), Accounting Information Systems (AIS), and Digital Analytics.

Management Program Implements 3C Curriculum

Meanwhile, I Wayan Nuka Lantara, Head of the Management Undergraduate Program, highlighted the distinctive 3C-based curriculum—Character, Competency, and Contribution—adopted by the Management Program at FEB UGM. This curriculum is designed to equip students with essential skills and values to thrive in an increasingly competitive job market.

The program offers courses across four main concentrations: Finance, Marketing, Human Resources and Strategy, and Operations and Innovation.

Wayan explained that the first year focuses on character development, while the second and third years emphasize competency building and contribution. In the final year, students must complete an internship to apply their knowledge in real-world settings.

“This approach brings students closer to the industry, allowing them to apply what they’ve learned through hands-on experience,” said Wayan.

Economics Program Combines Social Sciences with Quantitative Approaches

Sekar Utami Setiastuti, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., Head of the Economics Undergraduate Program, explained that students in the Economics program analyze social phenomena using quantitative methods to address economic challenges. The program continuously updates its curriculum to align with global economic developments.

To address sustainability issues, the Economics program has introduced new courses such as Circular Economy and Sustainability & Earth Balance. The program also offers several concentrations, including Development Economics, International Economics, Monetary Economics, and Public Economics.

“Students will examine various real-world economic issues, such as why some regions remain underdeveloped while others prosper, macroeconomic challenges like financial crises, and the role of government policies in economic stabilization,” Sekar explained.

Comprehensive Insights into FEB UGM Undergraduate Programs

During the FEB Overview session, speakers also discussed program selectivity, academic and extracurricular activities, and career prospects for graduates. Additionally, they shared valuable advice for prospective students interested in joining FEB UGM.

Among their recommendations were strengthening hard skills, such as mathematics and economics, and honing soft skills through active participation in school organizations.
