Interested in pursuing a double degree or postgraduate studies in the UK? The Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) is opening up opportunities for students to continue their studies at the University of Hull, UK, through its double degree and postgraduate programs. This information was delivered during the “University of Hull Info Session” held on Monday (19/05/2025) on the 5th floor of the Pertamina Tower Building, FEB UGM.
The University of Hull is one of the oldest universities in the UK, located in the city of Hull on the east coast of England. This city is an attractive study destination due to its relatively low cost of living compared to other major cities, with apartment rental prices 76% lower than in London. Hull is also known for hosting the Hull Fair, the largest traveling funfair in Europe, and its various tourist attractions, museums, art galleries, and vibrant student districts.
Rachel Kang, International Partnership Manager at the University of Hull, explained that the university hosts more than 15,000 international students, including over 3,000. The University of Hull has been awarded Gold in the Teaching Excellence Framework. It holds international accreditations from the Association of MBAs (AMBA) and the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB), placing it among the top 6% of business schools worldwide.
Unlike many other UK universities, all of the University of Hull’s facilities are within a single integrated campus. The campus also features the renowned Middleton Hall performance venue, the large Allam Sports Centre, and the seven-floor Brynmor Jones Library. In addition, there are 12 sports fields, over 50 clubs and societies, and various cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores on campus.
The University of Hull provides on-campus accommodation for around 2,300 new students each year, with three dormitory options, Westfield Court, The Courtyard, and Taylor Court. These accommodations have communal spaces, laundry facilities, Wi-Fi, bike parking, and 24-hour security.
Beyond accommodation, the university offers support services for mental health, immigration, disabilities, and academic and career development. The university provides mock interview services, one-on-one career advice, business mentoring, and startup development support to support career readiness.
For FEB UGM students interested in the double degree program, several requirements must be met, including a minimum GPA of 3.25 and an IELTS score of 6.0 (with no component below 5.5) or an equivalent English proficiency score accepted by the University of Hull. Specifically for the BSc (Hons) Accounting, Accounting and Financial Management, and Financial Management programs, students must have passed the Mathematics 1, Statistics 1, and Statistics 2 courses with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
Meanwhile, the postgraduate program has requirements similar to those of the double degree program, with some additional conditions. For example, the MSc Business Management program requires prior internship experience. In contrast, the MSc Human Resource Management program requires a minimum IELTS score of 6.5 (with no component below 6.0), or an equivalent English proficiency score accepted by the University of Hull.
The academic calendar for 2025/2026 begins in September 2025 (Trimester 1), continues in January–May 2026 (Trimester 2), and concludes in May–July 2026 (Trimester 3). More information can be found on the University of Hull’s official website.
This info session serves as a strategic initiative by FEB UGM to expand student access to global education and learning experiences. Through this collaboration, it is hoped that more FEB UGM students will participate in international programs and gain broader academic and professional insights.
