Prof. Nurul Indarti, Sivilokonom., Cand.Merc., Ph.D., undertook an academic visit to Melbourne, Australia, from 13 to 20 December 2025, under the “Peningkatan Kerjasama Promotor PMDSU” (PKP-PMDSU). She accompanied her doctoral student, Widya Ayu Amelia, who successfully received the PKPI-PMDSU Scholarship 2025.
It is important to note that not all PMDSU students (with their promotors) are eligible to participate in overseas academic mobility programs. In this year, only 100 out of 300 PMDSU awardees nationwide were selected to receive the Enhancing International Publication (EIP) PMDSU scholarship. From Universitas Gadjah Mada, only 16 out of 33 PMDSU awardees were granted this opportunity. Within this highly competitive selection, Prof. Nurul along with Widya Ayu Amelia were among those selected to participate in the program.
The academic visit to RMIT University represents a continuation and deepening of an already productive relationship between Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM) and RMIT. Following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on 28 November 2023, RMIT representatives visited UGM in 2023 and 2024, engaging in meaningful dialogue and academic exchange. The 2025 return visit by UGM to RMIT is both timely and necessary for transforming strategic intent into concrete actions.
The visit has three core objectives: (1) to provide intensive academic mentoring for PMDSU student Widya Ayu Amelia in refining at least one high-quality manuscript for submission to a Scopus-indexed journal; (2) to advance joint research collaboration with Professor Yuli Suseno in the field of knowledge management and innovation; and (3) to translate the FEB UGM–RMIT MoU through concrete initiatives such as academic exchange, joint supervision, and collaborative research and teaching. These objectives strengthen UGM’s doctoral education, international research output, and global academic engagement.
As part of the PKP program, Prof. Nurul Indarti actively engaged in meeting with key representatives from the School of Management, RMIT University, namely Professor Yuli Suseno (Host Professor), Professor Prem Chhetri (Academic Director, International and Engagement), Professor Banita Bissoondoyal-Bheenick (Director of Research Services and Programs), and Professor Sen Sendjaya (Head of Department of Management).
The meeting discussed the potential for strategic academic collaboration between FEB UGM and the School of Management at RMIT University. Key areas explored included joint supervision schemes, including collaborative research and joint publications, conference collaboration, guest lectures, and other forms of academic exchange to strengthen doctoral education, research capacity, and international engagement.
