CIMB Niaga Digital Lounge

PT Bank CIMB Niaga Tbk (CIMB Niaga) continues to show commitment to improve digital-based banking services for the academic community of higher education in Indonesia. On Monday (17/02), the Digital Lounge was inaugurated by CIMB Niaga at the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM).

Eko Suwardi as the Dean of FEB UGM said that the launching of CIMB Niaga Digital Lounge is a form of good cooperation between CIMB Niaga and FEB UGM to continue supporting student activities.

“The launching of CIMB Niaga Digital Lounge, OCTO Lab, and Student Club Lounge marks the importance of partnership or cooperation between FEB UGM and CIMB Niaga in the context of synergy to help each other. Strengthening each other from the banking side means strengthening the learning process at FEB UGM, introducing digital banking, and increasing financial literacy among students,” said Eko.

Eko added that this collaboration was a positive thing because CIMB Niaga worked with higher education institutions that produced quality students.

“In time, students can also strengthen CIMB Niaga, strengthen the banking industry, and will strengthen Indonesia in the future. This is a form of synergy that we build together for the common good for Indonesia,” he said.

Also present at the inauguration, CIMB Niaga’s President Director, Tigor M. Siahaan. Tigor said that the inauguration of the Digital Lounge at FEB UGM will provide convenience services for the academic community doing digital banking transactions. In addition, Digital Lounge also provides banking services that are fast and practical.

“We want to provide a pleasant customer experience for all customer segments, including those from the academic community. Therefore, we prepare Digital Lounge in the campus environment which is equipped with various modern facilities. This initiative is expected to answer the needs and lifestyle of students who are dynamic,” Tigor said.

In terms of facilities, Digital Lounge is provided to serve students, lecturers, and the campus community with a variety of banking facilities provided, such as self service banking (SSB), video banking, and Cash Deposit Machine (TST) machines. SB can serve a savings account opening independently in just 5 minutes. Video Banking helps serve financial and non-financial transactions, product information, customer complaints, and selfie picture services. Meanwhile, TST is used to facilitate customer financial transactions.

In addition, CIMB Niaga Digital Lounge was also equipped with facilities to support student lifestyles in the digital age. Starting from co-working space with free internet and electricity as a place for study and group discussions, vending machines that provide a variety of soft drinks, to the corner partnership that presents attractive merchants according to student interests and products of local SME partners.

“We also provide new facilities, namely Student Lounge by CIMB Niaga which is located next to Digital Lounge. The facility is intended to make it easy for students to hold various positive activities on campus,” added Tigor.

In addition to inaugurating the Digital Lounge, on that occasion, Tigor also delivered a public lecture in front of the FEB UGM academic community. In the two-hour public lecture, Tigor expressed his views on the phenomenon of digital banking in Indonesia.
