A total of nine Study Programs at Faculty of Economics and Business University of Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) have succeeded in increasing their grades and quality by successfully achieving Excellence Accreditation, in the granting of accreditation by the National Accreditation Board for Higher Education (BAN-PT). Unlike before, BAN-PT accreditation results used ratings A, B, and C. However, since 2019 BAN-PT has used accreditation with good, very good and excellent results. The stages of the accreditation process carried out by BAN-PT include evaluating data and information related to the quality of the implementation of Higher Education and Study Programs, determining the accreditation ranking based on evaluation results, and monitoring compliance with the Accreditation ranking requirements.
Excellent Accreditation achievements from BAN-PT are represented by the Accounting Department and the Management Department (should be just Accounting and Management department) of FEB UGM. At the Bachelor level, winning the Predicate Excellence from BAN-PT is the Bachelor of Accounting and Bachelor of Management Program. Whereas at the Postgraduate level, the winners of the BAN-PT Excellence are Masters in Accounting, Masters in Management, Masters in Management at Jakarta Campus, Masters in Accounting Science, and Masters in Management Science. The Doctoral Program is also not spared from this accreditation, the Doctoral Program that won the Excellence Accreditation is the Doctor of Accounting and the Doctor of Management Science. BAN-PT’s Excellence Accreditation is obtained after the Study Program has successfully fulfilled the Regulation of Minister of Education and Culture Number 5 of (should be gone or use “year 2020”) 2020 concerning Higher Education Accreditation and Study Programs by BAN-PT. This quality assurance system with superior standards is also applied to all study programs under the Department of Economics, FEB UGM, so it can be ensured that the entire learning process at FEB UGM is truly excellence (excellent) in terms of both (delete this) curriculum, quality assurance, lecturers, students, education staff (educational staffs) , and physical(delete physical) facilities.
According to nine Article (what does it mean by nine article? Should have just an article from) of the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation Number 5 of 2020, the conditions that must be met to achieve Excellence Accreditation is one of which accredits a study program with International Accreditation recognized by the Ministry of Education and Culture (Kemendikbud). Accreditation results by international accreditation agencies will be recognized as being equivalent to Excellence Accreditation ranking. Therefore, the International Accreditation of the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB) owned by FEB UGM is one of the bridges to achieve Excellence Accreditation from BAN-PT. The AACSB accreditation pinned to FEB UGM is given by The AACSB, an international accreditation agency that provides accreditation for business schools that have the highest quality standards throughout the world.
This achievement obtained by FEB UGM is the result of the collaboration of the entire FEB UGM Academic Community, this was revealed by Dr. Eko Suwardi, M.Sc., Ph.D, Dean of FEB UGM. He added that this accreditation is proof that FEB UGM continues to conduct evaluations to improve the quality of education. “The Excellent Accreditation is proof that the Study Program at FEB UGM has been recognized nationally and internationally. The focus of the FEB teaching and learning process, which emphasizes engagement, innovation, and impact, is the key to continuing evaluation and improvement of the FEB, in order to improve the quality of education in Indonesia, “ Eko said.
