Mahasiswa FEB Juara 1 Kompetisi Agribisnis 2025

The undergraduate students of the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM), once again made proud achievements in the national arena. Almayla Taorayudha, a student in the Management study program class of 2024, won 1st place in the National Essay Competition as a part of the Agribusiness Festival 2025, organized by Muhammadiyah Purwokerto University in February 2025. Dozens of students from various public and private universities in Indonesia attended this competition.

In the competition, Almayla carried an essay entitled “SusuMoo: Marketplace Application for Dairy Products and Its Derivatives to Reduce Indonesia’s Dependence on Imported Milk”. This idea offers a solution to the high number of milk imports in Indonesia by creating a digital marketplace application that directly brings together local dairy farmers, milk processing MSMEs, and consumers. This initiative aims to strengthen the national dairy industry and supports the achievement of Sustainable Development Goal 8, namely decent work and economic growth.

“Through SusuMoo, I want to encourage the independence of the domestic dairy industry. This application is a digital bridge that brings together local producers with a wider market, so that we are not constantly dependent on imports,” said Almayla, Wednesday (07/16/2025).

Almayla explained that she won the title after going through a series of selections, namely submitting full papers and final presentations before a panel of judges consisting of academics and practitioners in agriculture and agribusiness. The assessment was based on the idea’s originality, the issue’s relevance, and the potential impact offered.

For Almayla, participating in this competition was challenging because it was her first experience participating in a national-level essay competition.

“The biggest challenge was adjusting to the flow of the competition, which was completely new to me. But from there, I learned a lot, both in terms of organizing and conveying ideas effectively,” she said.

Despite winning first place, Almayla still sees this achievement as the beginning of her development process.

“I am grateful and proud to have won, but I realize this is just the beginning of my long process. Hopefully, this achievement can be a stepping stone to developing myself in a better direction,” she said.
