On Wednesday (13/04), the Master of Management (MBA) FEB UGM Jakarta Campus received a direct visit (offline) for a meeting agenda with the Antwerp Management School. Antwerp Management School (AMS) is an autonomous business school of the University of Antwerp located in the center of Antwerp, Belgium. The meeting was attended by representatives from each university with Prof. Dr. Koen Vandenbempt, the Dean of the Faculty of Economics and Business at the University of Antwerp, and Lena Candries, the Senior Director of International Business Relations and Development, as delegates to AMS. Meanwhile, Faculty of Economics adn Business (FEB) UGM also invited Prof. Didi Achjari, Ph.D., Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, Ph.D., Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Ph.D., Amin Wibowo, Ph.D., Rimawan Pradiptyo, Ph.D., and Luluk Lusiantoro, Ph.D to attend the occasion.
The agenda of the meeting began with opening remarks made by Prof. Didi Achjari, Ph.D., as the Dean of FEB UGM, to welcome the Antwerp Management School delegates. The event continued with a presentation explaining the international program of the FEB UGM MBA program, Jakarta Campus, which was delivered by Prof. Eduardus Tandelilin, Ph.D. Furthermore, Prof. Koen Vandenbempt also had the opportunity to deliver a presentation about Antwerp Management School, which among other things explained that the business school has nine faculties, their focus on phenomenal and applied research, and about the implementation of classes which are conducted in Dutch and English. In addition, just like FEB UGM, Antwerp Management School has also been accredited by AACSB.
Currently, Antwerp Management School is undergoing a number of ongoing activities such as international week and summer school for students in Indonesia with a target of increasing student exchange, increasing research-related cooperation, and developing new joint program formats (education and research-based). Based on this target, in accordance with the purpose of the meeting, namely to follow up on the cooperation between the two universities, the participants also discussed further about student exchange programs and other potential collaboration opportunities such as dual degree and summer school programs.
The entire academic community of FEB UGM would like to express their deepest gratitude to Antwerp Management School for paying a visit to us. In addition, FEB UGM has been treated very well by also being invited to the Belgian Embassy in Indonesia to attend networking events. Hopefully all the plans of cooperation that have been discussed together can be carried out smoothly and the partnership between the two campuses will be further strengthened in the future.
