FPEB UPI Meeting with FEB UGM in the Context of Benchmarking International Programs

As a foundation to plan the opening of the international program, on Thursday (24/8) the Faculty of Economics and Business Education, Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (FPEB UPI) held a meeting with the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) at FEB UGM Yogyakarta. FPEB UPI visited FEB UGM in order to conduct benchmarking and sharing as well as collecting information related to technical implementation and management of international programs at FEB UGM.

From the side of FPEB UPI, this meeting was attended by Prof. Dr. Vanessa Gaffar, SE. Ak. MBA as Deputy Dean for Academic Affairs FPEB UPI, Dr. Toni Heryana, S.Pd., MM., CRA as Deputy Dean for Finance and Resources of FPEB UPI, Denny Andriana, S.E., PgDip., MBA., Ph.D., Ak., CMA., CA as International Program Coordinator FPEB UPI, and Dr. Hj. Alfira Sofia, MM as the Head of the FPEB UPI Quality Control Unit. Meanwhile, from FEB UGM, this meeting was attended by Bayu Sutikno S.E., Cand. Merc., Ph.D. as Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo M.A., Ph.D. as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation and Alumni, Vogy Gautama Buanaputra S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., AFHEA as Secretary of Study Program of Accounting (Undergraduate Program), Luluk Lusiantoro S.E., M.Sc., Ph. D. as Head of Global Relations and Mobility Office (GREAT), Wieda Herdiana M.Sc, as Head of Academic and Student Section, Heyvon Herdhayinta S.E., M.Sc.., Ph.D. as Deputy Head of GREAT.

The visitation began with an explanation by Luluk Lusiantoro about international programs at FEB UGM which included the International Undergraduate Program (IUP). The selection process for the IUP program consists of an English proficiency test, a scholastic test, namely the Gadjah Mada Scholastic Test (GMST), Leaderless Group Discussion (LGD), and interviews. Students who pass the IUP program selection are then required to get international exposure consisting of the Indonesia Indonesia International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA), International Credit Transfer Program, PAMS & Nano Pams, and Global Summer Week. In addition, he also explained the facilities provided by FEB UGM for its students.

The next session was an explanation regarding the fields of research, community service, collaboration, and alumni by Gumilang. He explained about UGM’s improvement regarding the incentive system for lecturers with research grants. Incentives for lecturers can also be obtained through journal publications. Gumilang added that lecturers can also serve the community by providing community engagement lecturer facilities in the Economics and Business Clinic program. He also explained how FEB UGM guides final students by holding a Career and Student Development Unit which functions to identify the careers that students want. At the end of the event, Vogy explained and shared about his experience in handling the IUP program in the Accounting study program. Lastly, Wieda explained the technical aspects of the IUP program, which includes the IUP Curriculum and IUP Credit Transfer.
