Monday (19/12), in an open meeting at Grha Sabha Pramana which was the culmination of the 73rd Anniversary of Universitas Gadjah Mada (UGM), the Governor of Bank Indonesia, Perry Warjiyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., who is also a Chairman of the Alumni Family of the Faculty of Economics and Business Universitas Gadjah Mada (KAFEGAMA), received the Award Hamengku Buwono the IX. In line with this award, the Universitas Gadjah Mada Award this year was given to Ir. Agus Priyatno, IPU. and Rimawan Pradiptyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D., UGM Chancellor, Prof. dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med.Ed., Sp.OG(K)., Ph.D stated that "We believe that with the power of research, innovation, networking, and a transdisciplinary spirit, UGM will be able to actively and have a strong impact in responding to problems -humanitarian problems facing this nation."
The IX Hamengku Buwono Award, or HB IX Award, is an award given annually as part of the UGM Anniversary. The HB IX Award is given to a national figure who is deemed worthy of an award for his dedication to humanity and the nation. This award was held again and given after two years of absence due to the pandemic. Chairman of the UGM Council of Professors (DGB), Prof. Dr. Ir. Mochammad Maksum, M.Sc, reported that this Award could be held again at the Yogyakarta Palace. Maksum also explained that in the process, the UGM Council of Professors would narrow down the proposals for names of figures from the community, so that a figure was chosen who deserved to be awarded the HB IX Award. Historically, figures who received the HB IX Award included Herman Johannes, Mochtar Kusuma Atmadja, Selo Sumardjan, Teuku Jacob, Saparinah Sadli, Ajip Rosidi, Ahmad Syafii Maarif, Goenawan Mohamad, Jusuf Kalla, Retno Marsudi and Basuki Hadimuljono.
The IX Hamengku Buwono Award, which was held again this year, was received by the Governor of BI and alumni of FEB UGM, Perry Warjiyo, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D. Congratulations and Proficiat to Perry Warjiyo for the Award received, hopefully you can continue to inspire and spread benefits to others.
