Thursday (2/2), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held an Orientation Day in order to welcome and introduce international foreign students in the spring of 2023 to the academic environment of FEB UGM and the City of Yogyakarta, Indonesia. The 29 foreign students were accompanied by a buddy from the Global Leadership Forum (GLF) FEB UGM. This event was held on the 8th floor of the FEB UGM Learning Center.
Orientation day began with an opening by the MC, followed by singing Indonesia Raya and the Gadjah Mada Hymn. Then, the event continued with remarks by the Head of Global Relations and Mobility Office (GREAT) FEB UGM, Luluk Lusiantoro, S.E., M.Sc., Ph.D and an introduction to international programs at FEB UGM. The event continued with a presentation on academics and the study plan card system (KRS) by Wieda Herdiana M.Sc. The orientation day was followed by a question and answer session regarding FEB UGM’s international and academic programs.
This event continued with a detailed presentation of the three undergraduate study programs at FEB UGM. First, Dr., Rangga Almahendra, S.T., M.M. as the Secretary of the Undergraduate Management Study Program explained about the Management study program. Followed by Dr. Vogy Gautama Buanaputra, SE, M.Sc., Ph.D., AFHEA, as Chair of the Bachelor of Accounting Study Program who explained about the Accounting study program. Then Dr. Sekar Utami Setiastuti, SE, M.Sc., Ph.D., as Chair of the Bachelor of Economics Study Program explained about the Economics Study Program. After the presentations of the three study programs, the event continued with a cross-cultural session by Adrien Coen. Adrien explained about many kinds of culture in Yogyakarta.
After the cross-cultural session, Orientation Day was continued with remarks and foreword by the Dean of FEB UGM who was represented by the Vice Dean for Academic and Student Affairs, Bayu Sutikno, S.E., M.S.M., Ph.D. Then, the buddies accompany foreign students to carry out a Campus Tour around FEB UGM. Campus Tour as well as ending the Spring 2023 Orientation Day. We would like to welcome Spring 2023 Foreign Students to FEB UGM, Happy Studying and Happy Exploring the City of Yogyakarta.
