Cultural Immersion Day as a Means of Welcoming Foreign Students

To welcome foreign students spring semester, the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held an activity on Cultural Immersion Day (CID). The CID program is carried out by FEB UGM every semester. This semester, CID was held on Friday (03/02) as an event to introduce Indonesian culture, especially Yogyakarta, and a forum for friendship between international students studying at FEB UGM. CID participants are intended for Undergraduate programs totaling 24 foreign students.
This time, the location chosen for the CID activity was the Pentingsari Tourism Village in the Pentingsari Hamlet, Umbulharjo Village, Cangkringan District, Sleman Regency. While in this village, students are invited to do ice-breaking, outbound, amazing races with multiple posts to enhance teamwork. In addition, participants were also invited to make written batik using canting, which is one of Indonesia's traditional cultures.
Next, participants are invited to have lunch with a traditional food menu. The CID activity was closed with a group photo as documentation, and the participants returned to FEB UGM.
