FEB UGM Officially Opened Global Summer Week 2023

Wednesday (05/07), the Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB UGM) held the opening ceremony for the Global Summer Week 2023 with the theme "Business and Economic Ethics: Imposing Morality in the Market to Build a Better World". This event was held offline on the 8th floor of the FEB UGM Learning Center Building. Global Summer Week, previously called I-Week, is an annual event organized by FEB UGM in the form of short courses in the summer. This year's Global Summer Week events series will take place from 5-18 July 2023.
The opening ceremony began with the audience singing Indonesia Raya and the Gadjah Mada Hymn together. Dr. Arika Artiningsih, Ph.D., as Chairman of Global Summer Week 2023, remarked in the next session. She hopes that the participants will not only learn but also be able to make friends and make memories during the Global Summer Week program. This year, FEB UGM invited speakers from leading foreign universities, such as the University of Maryland, Colorado State University, and the University of Antwerp. In addition, there were also practitioners from NUCB, EdenFarm, UUM, INCEIF, and TNP2K.
Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Ph.D., as Vice Dean for Research, Community Service, Cooperation, and Alumni, remarked at the next session. He hopes this program can be a valuable moment to share insights between Indonesian participants and other countries, such as Denmark, Malaysia, the Philippines and Brunei. He also thanked all parties participating in realizing this year's Global Summer Week. After his remarks, Ignatius Susatyo Wijoyo, M.M., Gumilang Aryo Sahadewo, Ph.D. and Dr. Arika Artiningsih, Ph.D. sound the gong as a symbol that Global Summer Week 2023 has officially opened.
Ignatius Susatyo Wijoyo, M.M., Vice Chancellor for Research, Business Development, and Cooperation UGM, remarked the next session. He hopes that the participants, especially those from abroad, can gain valuable experience and enjoy the atmosphere in Yogyakarta. The next event was the performance of the Sekar Pudjiastuti dance presented by the UGM student activity unit in dance and musical instruments, namely Swagayugama. The dance is a welcoming dance which is also the closing ceremony for the opening of the Global Summer Week 2023.
