Pelepasan Wisuda Sarjana Periode Mei 2024

The Faculty of Economics and Business, Universitas Gadjah Mada (FEB) UGM, once again released 43 graduates of the third period of the undergraduate program for the academic year 2023/2024 on Wednesday (5/22) at the FEB UGM Learning Center Building. Earlier, FEB UGM graduates and thousands of other graduates were graduated by the UGM Chancellor at the Grha Sabha Pramana (GSP) UGM.

During this graduation period, FEB UGM graduated 43 graduates: 17 from the management program, 17 from the accounting program, and nine from the economics program. Aliman achieved the highest cumulative grade point average (GPA) in the Accounting program, with a GPA of 3.86. Aliman also became the fastest graduate with a study time of 3 years, 6 months, and two days. The next youngest graduate was Alexandra Isabel Nugroho from the Management program, who graduated at 21 years, 2 months, and 16 days.

The Dean of FEB UGM, Prof. Dr. Didi Achjari, M.Com., Ak., C.A., said that Aliman was one of the exceptional graduates. Although a limited laptop prevented him from completing his thesis, Aliman never gave up. He borrowed a friend’s laptop to process data that could not be processed on his laptop. He also completed his thesis on a laptop borrowed from a friend. “Aliman is an example of a student with extraordinary struggle. Limitations do not discourage or anger him, as he strives to be the best. FEB provides laptop lending to students, but at that time, they were all borrowed,” he explained.

Didi said that FEB UGM provides laptop lending facilities to support the graduation process, especially thesis preparation for its students. FEB UGM provides 20 laptops for students to borrow. “FEB UGM is strongly committed to valuing diversity by providing opportunities for the nation’s best talents to grow and develop on this campus. We will continue to uphold this spirit,” he said.

At the end of his speech, Didi hoped that the graduates would be able to have a successful career outside the campus and achieve what they had dreamed of.

Meanwhile, Aliman, in his graduation speech as the representative of FEB graduates, said that graduation is a pleasant moment and the beginning of a new adventurous life that awaits outside the campus.

Therefore, he urged all graduates to continue to struggle and work hard to achieve their dreams. “Let’s make this moment a proud milestone in our lives. Remain humble and continue to work hard to achieve our noblest dreams. Congratulations on the process; hopefully, our future steps will always be filled with success and happiness,” he said.

Earlier, UGM Rector, Prof. Dr. Ova Emilia, M.Med., Ed., Sp.OG(K)., PhD., in her speech at the graduation ceremony of 1,423 graduates at GSP UGM, delivered a message to all graduates to continue to be lifelong learners by improving their skills and abilities. An adaptive, collaborative, and innovative attitude in the development of knowledge and skills will shape a person into a competitive, resilient, and independent individual with a new mindset to face the era of disruption. “In this disruptive era, we need to create opportunities. Make the knowledge that you all have a basis for wisdom to act and think, as well as for human welfare and continuity of life,” she explained.
